The fast-paced growth of the logistics industry has contributed significantly to China’s high-quality economic development. However, the growth of the logistics industry is frequently accompanied by high levels of pollution, carbon emissions, and energy consumption. How to increase low-carbon logistics capacity has emerged as a research hotspot under the dual carbon goals. This study used entropy weight TOPSIS to evaluate the low-carbon logistics capacity and dynamic fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) to shed light on the antecedent conditions that influenced low-carbon logistics capability by using panel data from 30 Chinese provinces between 2008 and 2021. Based on the empirical results, several conclusions are drawn: (1) The comprehensive score show that while province low-carbon logistics capacity varies, most of them exhibit a general growing tendency in most provinces, where Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangdong and Zhejiang rank among the top five. (2) Three configurations, digital empower capital intensive type, digital empower labor intensive type, and green ecology plus technology innovation type that lead to better low-carbon logistics capacity. Related policy recommendations are proposed, including strengthening the synergistic development of the digital economy and the logistics industry, promoting research and development of green and innovative technologies, and reinforcing the constraints of the dual-carbon target.
The article examines regional resilience in China using the case study of the Xiamen regional economy. The open political economy perspective posited builds on three strands; the structural dimensions related to underpinning drivers and the mobility of capital; the multiscalar nature of the institutions in which firms are embedded and the agency of firms and their cognitive capacities in the (re)constitution of reorganizing production networks. The data comprise in-depth interviews with 20 firms in a cross section of sectors to examine how firms are innovating to change their position in value chains and mode of integration with the global economy.
Outstanding entrepreneurs play an important role in economic and social development. As China's economic development has entered a new era, a high-quality development model calls for entrepreneurship. As a group with unique spiritual connotation among Chinese entrepreneurs, Fujian merchants with marine cultural genes are famous for their spirit of "only if you fight hard can you win". However, in recent years a series of famous enterprises in Fujian fell, which is worth reflecting. This paper summarizes the concept and connotation of entrepreneurship, argues the current spiritual deficiency of entrepreneurs in Fujian through specific case studies, and proposes countermeasures based on the policies of various regions in China, and hopes to further protect and stimulates the spirit of entrepreneurs in Fujian.
