U l t r a c e n t r i f ug a t i o n s t u d i e s a t c o n d i t i o n s n e a r t h o s e a t which t h e p r o t e i n p r e c i p i t a t e d r e v e a l e d no evidence o f a g g r e g a t i o n . The prot e i n had a f a i r l y h i g h c o n t e n t of nonpolar amino a c i d s w i t h p r o l i n e b e i n g i n t h e h i g h e s t amount. The e f f e c t s of pH, i o n i c s t r e n g t h , h e a t and e t h a n o l on t h e s o l u b i l i t y of t h e p r o t e i n were s t u d i e d .
