It was found that the introduction of heterocycles to steroids often leads in a change of their physiological activity and the appearance of new interesting biological precursors. Recent developments in the syntheses of steroidal oxazoles, oxazolines, and oxazolidines are described herein. The biological activities of those steroidal derivatives for which data are available are given.
Thiazinones containing sulfonamides are experiencing increased interest due to their importance in the design and development of new molecules of potential pharmaceutical interest. The synthesis of a series of new Nsubstituted 2H-1,3-thiazin-2-ones containing sulfonamide is described. The compounds were synthesized in good yields in a one-pot reaction starting from commercially available chlorosulfonyl isocyanate (CSI), 3chloro-1-propanethiol, and various primary and secondary aliphatic, aromatic or heteroaromatic amines. The structure of one of these compounds was established by X-ray crystallography. The compounds are being evaluated for their biological activity.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
