Objective. To evaluate if there is a relation between quality of life and quality of sleep in pregnant women. Method. This was a crosssectional study which participants were selected at Ipiranga Hospital and applied an evaluation form, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), questionnaire of quality of life (SF-36), and was given a booklet of guidelines of sleep hygiene. Inclusion criteria was pregnancy; exclusion criteria was hearing loss, sleep disturbance, prior night occupation, neurological damage and that was not doing prenatal care. Results. 51 volunteers participated in the work, of which 32 were in the third trimester and 10 in the second trimester, the average age was 25,3 (±6,3) years, and 70% of the entire sample had poor sleep quality. It was also observed that multiparous pregnant women had worsening in sleep and quality of life. Conclusion. There was no correlation between quality of sleep and quality of life in pregnant women. But it was worst in the second trimester of pregnancy.
Objetivo. Avaliar se há relação entre a qualidade de vida e a qualidade do sono em gestantes. Método. Estudo transversal em que as participantes foram selecionadas no Hospital Ipiranga. Aplicou-se uma ficha de avaliação, Índice de qualidade de sono de Pittsburg (PSQI), questionário de qualidade de vida (SF-36), e foi entregue uma cartilha de orientações sobre higiene do sono. O critério de inclusão foi gestantes alfabetizadas, e os critérios de exclusão foram: déficit auditivo, distúrbio do sono prévio (relatado pela gestante), alterações neurológicas e que não estivesse realizando acompanhamento pré-natal. Resultados. 51 voluntárias participaram do trabalho, sendo que 32 estavam no terceiro trimestre gestacional e 10 no segundo trimestre, a média de idade foi de 25,3 (±6,3) anos, e 70% de toda amostra apresentaram má qualidade do sono. Observou-se também que gestantes multíparas apresentaram pior sono e qualidade de vida. Conclusão. Não houve correlação entre a qualidade do sono e qualidade de vida nos trimestres gestacionais, porém a qualidade de vida e qualidade de sono apresentaram-se pior no segundo trimestre gestacional.
