The perspective of religious groups about the internet in general can be arranged into two dichotomous categories, first, religious groups see the internet as something that must be rejected because it is identical with modernity that tends to be secular; second, is the opposite, that internet technology can be accepted by religious groups to support their various religious goals. Through the Religious-Social Shaping of Technology approach, this article observes that religious groups use and negotiate with technology for their religious purposes. This study applies a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with administrators and members of religious groups. Based on the use of the internet by the Majelis Rasulullah, an urban Islamic group in Indonesia, this article discovers that the principles and values of group beliefs, as well as the group's goals and discourse about the internet influence the group's decision to accept the internet as part of group activities. In addition, this article also shows that internet use by religious groups has succeeded in changing group communication between group leaders and members from predominantly one-way and very limited into an interactive one. In addition, through internet use, the group has succeeded in building an online transaction system, showing that religious groups are no longer merely a religious discussion forum, but also a business entity. This article significantly enriches the study of internet use by religious groups in the Indonesian context.
Inovasi teknologi dikhawatirkan menyebabkan pengangguran massal. Namun Inovasi teknologi juga dibutuhkan dalam mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi. Tujuan makalah ini adalah memahami dan meramalkan dampak inovasi teknologi terhadap tenaga kerja di Indonesia dengan pendekatan model John Hick yang di estimasi menggunakan model Threshold Autoregressive (TAR). Penelitian ini berusaha mengkontruksi dan memetakan dampak inovasi teknologi pada ketenaga-kerjaan serta mencari solusi mengatasi dilema inovasi teknologi dan ketenaga kerjaan dan mengkombinasi dengan metode kuantitatif content analysis.Kami menemukan bahwa inovasi teknologi memiliki pengaruh terhadap ketenagakerjaan,potensi pembukaan peluang kerja baru sebagai dampak positif inovasi teknologi sebagai kompensasi penekanan kesempatan kerja akibat inovasi teknologi.Kata Kunci : Indonesia, Pengangguran, Inovasi, Teknologi.
Media has become the dominant source of information not only for individual but also for the community in obtaining a picture of reality. In the construction process of reality, language is the main element. Language is the central instrument for telling reality. The choice of words and how the presentation of a reality contributes to the structure of the construction of reality and the meaning that arises from it. Therefore, in this construction process there is a tendency of media that may be biased in constructing an event or people, one of which is about women and disable groups. Media represent women with disabilities to be a weak figure when compared with disabled men. Men with disability are seen more powerful when he is able to work while women are more seen as a figure that needs to be pitied and highly dependent on others. This study aims to find out how the online media frame issue about women disabilities, whether it shows more empowerment or remain trapped in gender bias. For this reason, this research uses constructivism paradigm which see the media not as a free and neutral channel but as a subject that constructs reality. The construction theory of the social reality sees that social reality is often manifest as a symbolic reality framed by the media with certain news strategy through the selection of words, images, and the use of view to affirm the interests of the media seeing an issue. Therefore, this research uses Pan and Kosicki framing analysis technique to find how media frame the issue of women with disabilities. The result shows that online media frame the issue of the women with disabilities in gender bias.
Praktik jurnalisme identik dengan tanggung jawab media mengungkap kebenaran melalui bahasa. Kelugasan bahasa dalam menyampaikan pemberitaan menjadi penting untuk menyajikan fakta secara jelas. Penggunaan satire dalam praktik penulisan berita menjadi hiburan bagi pembaca. Akan tetapi disisi lain, gaya bahasa satire yang tidak lugas menunjukkan fakta rentan terhadap munculnya interpretasi yang tidak tepat oleh pembaca. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana penggunaan satire dalam kontruksi isu #2019GantiPresiden di media online Mojok.Co. Artikel ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis dan tehnik analisa semiotika untuk melihat bagaimana kontruksi isu yang dibangun oleh Mojok.Co tentang isu #2019GantiPresiden melalui penggunaan gaya bahasa satire. Artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa gaya bahasa satire digunakan Mojok.Co untuk menyerang kelompok pendukung isu #2019GantiPresiden secara umum, dan calon presiden yang beroposisi dengan kekuasaan. Penggunaan gaya bahasa satire sebagai praktik jurnalistik tampak jelas mengarah pada cara media membangun sentimen politik pada kelompok lain daripada menyampaikan kebenaran atas fakta.
Dalam riset sebelumnya dimensi perilaku keberagamaan umumnya diukur dengan multi-aspek seperti ritual, pengetahuan keagamaan, kredo, keimanan, konsekuensi individual-sosial, habituasi dan seterusnya, sehingga akhirnya ditemukan faktor yang paling menentukan perilaku keberagamaan seseorang baik sebagai individu atau komunitas. Makalah ini memperluas kajian perilaku keberagamaan tersebut melalui variabel akibat terpaan media online. Pendekatan riset menggunakan mix-methods, dengan metode survey dan observasi langsung kepada 366 responden, melalui teknik quota sampling secara proporsional pada generasi veteran, x, y dan z. Dan hasilnya, media online terbukti menjadi variabel diterminan di antara kombinasi variabel habituasi beragama, pendidikan, kesejahteraan, identitas nasionalisme, dan kesenjangan sosial. Terpaan media online secara langsung berhasil mengubah konservatisme beragama khalayak muslim menjadi lebih moderat, sementara lainnya bersifat simultan dan atau tidak langsung. Selain itu, moderasi kehidupan beragama di lingkup keluarga muslim lebih mungkin dilakukan dibanding kehidupan sosial dan politiknya.
