Abstract.A mathematical-physical model of a supersonic missile was built, taking into account the mass and inertia properties. The model was implemented in the MathCAD14 simulation program. A numerical analysis of the missile ballistics was conducted and basic parameters were determined: range, altitude, velocity and acceleration, which enabled a test range program for manufactured missile models to be drawn up. Initial flight tests of missiles were carried out at the test range. Satisfactory accordance of experimental and theoretical dynamic parameters of the missile under study was obtained.
The paper presents the problems of applications of stratospheric systems to increase the tactical and reconnaissance capabilities of the Polish Armed Forces. The paper contains the results from examples of simulations which were designed to determine the cost/performance ratio of the production and operation of aerostats with strictly identified technical parameters in the context of their operational capabilities. It also describes the principles of operation of aerostats for the support of intelligence collection and the limitations imposed on aerostats by the specificity of tropospheric and stratospheric regions.
The article presents the analysis of the threats to Polish Navy ships resulting from the development by the Baltic Sea countries of missile systems or turbojet missiles. The most popular varieties and types of missiles that could be used against Polish Navy vessels were described and classified taking into account mainly the potential of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Federation (BF FR), as well as an analysis of the latest global trends in the area of counteracting these missiles. The article presents the conclusions drawn from exemplary simulations of the attack of modern anti-ship missiles. The article also contains references to the ways of determining the probability of avoiding a rocket attack and the measure of the effectiveness of self-defence of attacked ships. The work contains conclusions regarding desirable traits from the systems of self-defence of ships on the modern battlefield with particular emphasis on the character of the Polish Navy. There are problems associated with flight of objects such as rockets after exceeding sound barrier. One of them is heating up their body during the flight, especially at low altitudes. Overheated surface of rocket leads to serious consequences, such as rapid destruction of material components of missile. It could cause an interference with target tracking signal if it is on the spectral range of missile optoelectronic detecting head. It can cause destruction of flying missile in extreme cases. In addition, temperature increase causes an increase of drag force of object what directly influences its ballistic parameters. The subject of the paper is to present a concept of experimental setup to test the heating of missile body at flight. The setup is based on a wind tunnel. Four missiles were selected for initial analysis in order to test some typical designs for significantly different flight velocities and aerodynamics. Boundary layer at flow around the surface, determining temperature field of missile, the local distribution of heat transfer coefficients on the sphere and exemplary distribution of temperature and pressure on the sphere during flow around, distribution of Nusselt numbers for different velocities of flow around roll, numerical model of rockets, distribution of Mach number, temperature field and velocity vectors are presented.
