Plastic waste pollution is an issue not only on land, but also at sea. It takes 20 to 500 years for the plastic garbage produced to decompose fully. The aim of this community engagement program is to assist partners in dealing with the problem of plastic waste. Socialization, use of appropriate technology for processing plastic waste, help, and assessment are the stages of action in the implementation of this community partnership program. The program's outcomes include partners being able to use a plastic waste crusher machine to turn plastic waste into plastic pellets, that may be sold or processed into other goods, as well as a solution for reducing plastic waste generation.
<p><em>Plastic is an object that can support human daily activities due to its character that is practical and resistant. However, wasted plastic can pollute the environment since it is difficult to be decomposed. The purpose of this study was to produce plastic chopper machine that is capable of chopping plastic waste with shredder type and reel type cutting tools. The design process is chosen based on a predetermined assessment. The kinds of plastic that are chopped will be PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and HDPE (high density polyethylene) plastic. AISI 304 material knife was chosen to chop up plastic waste. According to the results of design and calculation, the engine size has dimensions of 1105.6x1355.7x600, 3 HP motor drive power, and has a rotation of 1450 rpm which is assisted by pulley transmission elements and v-belt type A. The chopper components used consist of 14 pieces of shredder blade and 9 blade reel cutters with 2 pieces of bedknife. The components of shredder knives, reel knives, and frames are analyzed using Finite Element Analysis to determine the safety of the planned design.</em></p>
Kegiatan diseminasi produk teknologi ini melibatkan kelompok pembudidaya ikan (Pokdakan) Curug Mutiara, dan Tim Penggerak Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (TP-PKK) Desa Curug. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi mitra adalah sulitnya melakukan pengolahan air untuk proses pembudidayaan ikan lele karena kualitas air tanah yang ada di Desa Curug kurang baik, dan kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang diversifikasi produk pangan olahan ikan lele. Tujuan dari diseminasi produk teknologi ini adalah membantu mitra dalam pengembangan teknologi filtrasi air kolam dan melakukan diversifikasi produk pangan olahan ikan lele. Tahapan kegiatan yang digunakan, yaitu sosialisasi, pelatihan dan pendampingan. Kegiatan diseminasi produk teknologi kepada masyarakat yang telah dilaksanakan dapat berjalan berkat kerja sama tim pengabdian, perangkat desa dan kelompok pembudidaya ikan lele serta TP-PKK desa Curug, dalam menciptakan dan mengembangkan usaha budidaya ikan lele yang produktif, sehingga mampu mendorong peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat.
Ship’s strength is a very significant factor in ship design. In this research, a study of the strength of ships made of recycled plastic material has been carried out. The ship has been designed according to the needs of the load weight, passengers, propulsion system, fishing equipment and the weight of the material itself. Then the load is distributed into the design, where the profile shape and plate thickness used are assumed to be temporary. The strength of the boat analysed, and the minimum plate thickness required in the design is 10 mm with maximum strain The recycle plastic used is type 2 (HDPE).
Garbage is a part that can not be separated from human life, garbage is an item that is wasted or discarded, and is often regarded as something that is not useful. Garbage is also a major problem, especially in big cities. Trash negative impact on the environment, because the waste can lead to environmental pollution, disruption of cleanliness, safety and health. The objectives of this study were (1) identify the state of the art paradigm of organic waste by burning, (2) designing the incinerator simple as one alternative to appropriate technology and is equipped with a system of utilization of the heat produced, (3) gives a solution to the waste problem so it is useful to reduce the waste generated in landfills while, and (4) examine the performance of the incinerator that has been designed. The method of planning the incinerator is divided into (1) the design of the product, (2) the design process, and (3) engineering design, (4) a manufacturing process or manufacture tools, and ( 5) testing tool. The incinerator is designed in accordance with the planning, the construction of the incinerator is made of a metal plate with a thickness of 3 mm, the dimensions of the combustion chamber is the outer diameter of 350 mm, an inner diameter of 290 mm, and 410 mm high combustion chamber. Organic waste burner is capable of burning organic waste as much as 28 Kg/hour. Garbage burning rate of 9.33 Kg/h, the air discharge design results obtained at 0.0173 m3/sec.
