This paper aims to present a novel systematic approach to personnel selection. The contributions of this paper are on the multicriteria decision-making problem and the assembly line balancing problem related to personnel selection. This paper presents a novel method, which is the possibility degree based TOPSIS (technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution) method with interval type-2 trapezoidal fuzzy (IT2TrF) numbers, as an extension of the TOPSIS method for the personnel selection problem. This paper presents the possibility mean value and possibility degree measures instead of distance measures in current TOPSIS to define a comparative index. The closeness coefficient based on the possibility degree of each alternative is calculated according to the approximate positive and negative ideal solutions. The subjective judgments of the decision makers are aggregated to calculate the weights of the criteria. The weights based on the IT2TrF number are input into IT2TrF number based the TOPSIS phase to rank the alternatives. The proposed method is applied to evaluate the personnel selection in an assembly line of a textile firm after the closeness coefficient of each personnel is determined.
This paper investigated the value concept of lean management to improve the performance of an emergency department (ED). This paper aims to analyze on patient perceived value (PPV) to apply lean management principles in the ED. The DEMATEL (Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory) method has been suggested to specify the influence degrees of these values in ED. The results show that the "availability of equipment" value has remarkable influence on the other values.
In this study, it was tried to evaluate the views of high school students about the EBA Course website. The participants of the study used EBA Course website and they consisted of 174 students studying in the school year of 2016 and 2017 in two Anatolian high schools. Survey model was used in the study. The data obtained through a questionnaire developed by the researchers was analyzed through the techniques of non-descriptive statistics and oneway analysis of variance (ANOVA) for unrelated samples. According to the results obtained at the end of the study, it was found that the majority of the students connected the internet from their houses and they preferred computer as the tool to connect to the EBA website. Additionally, they reported that they were able to connect easily the EBA Course website and they rarely used the website. Moreover, they stated that the students did not find the contents of the EBA Course website sufficient. In addition, while the 9 th-grade students stated that EBA Course tests were instructive and EBA increased their course success, the 12 th-graders stated negative opinions in these matters. The students in general had the opinion that the contents of EBA Course website were insufficient for university exam. The course contents of EBA were considered to be simple for high school students and unsuitable for the age levels of these students. It is suggested for the contents of EBA Course website to be reorganized and updated in accordance with the grade levels of students.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
