At the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, 80 untenured faculty members and 143 tenured faculty members responded to a questionnaire about peer observation, used by the university as an integral part of the evaluation of untenured faculty. Both the observers and observees reported that they valued the peer observation process and the meetings that were held before and after the observations. This satisfaction may have resulted, in large part. from the faculty's involvement in creating peer observation guidelines for their departments. The observers were evenly divided between those who thought that they were adequately trained and those who felt the opposite. and they tended to discount the reliability of their reports to a greater extent than did the observees. The observers preferred giving written rather than oral feedback. When asked if suggestions for improvement or alternate teaching methods were given, 77 percent of the observers and 73 percent of the observees agreed. ( 5 1 re f)-Depurtmetit of Management. There are many operator classes that are weaker than p-hyponormal. These include p-quasihyponormal, absolute p-paranormal, p-paranormal, normaloid, and spectraloid. In this note, we discuss measure theoretic composition operators in these classes.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
