cis- and trans-1,3-Dimethylindan-5-amines have been prepared and allowed to react with hexa-carbonylchromium. The stereochemistry of the tricarbonylchromium complexes so obtained is discussed.

A kinetic study of the oxidation of allyl alcohol by potassium hexacyanoferrate (111) in the presence of palladium (11) chloride is reported. The reaction was observed by measuring the disappearance of the potassium hexacyanoferrate (111) spectrophotometrically. The reaction is first order with respect to allyl alcohol and palladium (11) chloride, inverse second order with respect to [Cl-1, and zero order with respect to potassium hexacyanoferrate (111). The rate is found to increase linearly with hydroxyl ion concentration.

Beim Umsetzen der Diketone (I) mit Tosylhydrazin in siedendem Methanol oder Isopropanol entstehen statt der erwarteten Ditosylhydrazone Gemische der Monohydrazone (II) mit den N‐Tosyl‐pyrazolen (III), die mit weiterem Tosylhydrazin unter Abspaltung der Tosylgruppe und Bildung von N,N′‐Ditosyl‐hydrazin reagieren ((IIIa) erst nach längerem Rückflußkochen, (IIIb) wesentlich leichter).
