A systematic investigation has been carried out on the angular dependence of the polarization resulting from the elastic scattering of protons by C 12 nuclei, at laboratory angles ranging from 45 to 135° for proton energies between 3.78 and 4.66 MeV. The results are somewhat different from the predictions of phase-shift analysis of elastic-scattering angular distributions. It was found that this disagreement may be explained by making small changes in the phase shifts without seriously affecting the fit to the angular distributions.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
