While hypertension with accompanying complications remains a life-threatening illness, a critical program in its management and prevention is implementing self-care behaviors (SCBs). This study examined the factors associated with SCB that are dominant in hypertension patients with complications. Materials and Methods: This quantitative study was conducted using the regression analytic method and a cross-sectional approach. The non-probability sampling technique was used, and the response rate was 96.2%. Data were collected using a modified hypertension self-care profile (HBP-SCP) questionnaire, hypertension knowledge questionnaire, family support questionnaire, and the briefillness perception questionnaire (B-IPQ). Results:The mean total SCB score was high at 55.9% with a mean of 191.01, SD = 5.16; 77.5% of the respondents had no disease history, 80.4% had good knowledge, 58.8% had strong family support, and 50% had a good perception of the disease. Factors that were significantly related to SCB were family support (p = 0.00, r = 0.75) and illness perception (p = 0.00, r = 0.77), while disease history (r = 0.47) and knowledge were not significantly related (r = 0.13). Moreover, the analysis of multiple linear regression with the backward method showed that the most dominant factor influencing SCB was illness perception (p = 0.00, = 0.47, B = 0.495, R2 = 0.650). The effect of illness perception on SCB (65%) meant that each 0.50 perception score increased the SCB score by one. Conclusion: It is recommended that health workers increase patient perception using innovative interventions to improve the SCB of hypertension patients with complications.
Baluran National Park, West Java, as one of the conservation sites in Indonesia, has the attraction of the varied types of ecosystems, including fungi. This study aimed to analyze the diversity of fungi in Bama Coastal Forest, Baluran National Park. The method was explorative with plot purposive sampling technique. Parameters in this study include abundance, dominance, and diversity of fungi enriched with physical parameters of humidity and temperature. The fungi were documented and macroscopically observed. Data were analyzed using the abundance index, dominance index, and diversity index. This research identified 18 types of macrofungi in Bama Coastal forest, Baluran National Park East Java including Ganoderma, sp, Hexagonia tenuis, Trametes hirsute, Phellinus sp.1 and sp.2, Ganoderma applanatum, Phellinus igniarius, Pycnoporus cinnabarinus, Daedalea quercina, Tyromyces chioneus, Microporus xanthopus, Calvatia sp., Irpex lacteus, Trichaptum sp., Lentinus sp. Poria corticola, Tyromyces sp., and Lichemomphalia sp. One fungi species (Ganoderma sp.) has the highest abundance index (27.62). The Medium abundance index was found in three species (Hexagonia tenuis, Tyromyces chioneus, Tyromyces sp.) while the rest fungi were in low abundance index. Dominance index of all fungi species identified in Bama was in low category (D<0.5) with medium diversity (2.30). It can be concluded that the diversity of microfungi in the coastal forest of Bama, Baluran National park was a distribution medium of individual of each species and medium community stability. Environmental conditions in the Bama Coast Forest with 93% humidity and an average air temperature of 26-27oC could support for the fungi to grow quite well.
Islamic boarding schools are social, religious institutions that become educational vehicles for Muslims who desire to investigate the religious sciences; someone accompanies a teacher wherever they go or settle in a cottage to learn science (santri/student at the muslim school). Adolescents at puberty experience growth characterized by physiological and hormonal influences on their physical appearance. Visible changes can affect their behavior, transition period, and health problems, especially in dental and oral health and gingiva. The teeth and mouth are the most crucial hygiene in the human body, becoming a significant problem in adolescent health. The absence of teeth and mouth for gingiva is frequently used as a sign of diseased periodontal tissue. This study was conducted to assess the hormonal impacts of adolescents with poor dental hygiene and gingival diseases. This type of research uses a cross-sectional design. The research sample was conducted on Daar El Fikri Islamic Boarding School adolescents, with as many as 40 people. The measuring instrument uses a questionnaire, the Oral Hygiene Index Simplified (OHI-S), and the Gingival Index. The Spearmant Correlation test carried out data analysis. The results of this student girl at the Muslim school are that the average age of puberty adolescents and experiencing a cycle turns out that oral hygiene is not good and the gingivitis has mild inflammation, this occurs due to hormonal effects.
