The Brazilian port system assumes importance in trade with other countries. Brazil has an extensive coastline, generating advantages in this segment. In the world, this sector grows strongly through large investments, especially in Asian countries, generating great increase in its efficiencies. In this process, the public policies that govern the waterway market have relevance in interfering in regulating these interactions between those involved. This article aims to demonstrate over time the public policies of Brazil that act in ports and terminals. Additionally, this article aims to demonstrate the productive performance in tons of this sector in Brazil between 2010 and 2020.
