Introduction: The Attention Deficit Disorder constitutes a complex behavioral disorder that takes the child to variable degrees of commitment in social, emotional, educational and family life. This disorder is characterized by motor, perceptual, cognitive and behavioral disorders, expressing global difficulties of child development. There is a shortage of physiotherapy work in the area of psychiatry. Some studies conclude that body techniques have much to contribute in mental health care and stresses that physiotherapy must take its place within the new perspectives in mental health care. Thereby, it emerged the concern to assess the importance of physical therapy techniques in children with Attention Deficit Disorder/Hyperactivity Disorder-ADHD. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of physical therapy techniques in children with Attention Deficit Disorder/Hyperactivity Disorder. Methods: The study, from the point of view of its nature, framed in a double blind study with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of two groups with a total of 10 children, aged from 7 to 11 years. Diante das incapacidades do Acidente Vascular Encefálico, o fisioterapeuta atua no aperfeiçoamento do potencial de recuperação do paciente, fazendo-se necessária uma intervenção imediata. Com isso, objetivou-se analisar a atuação fisioterapêutica no pós-imediato de Acidente Vascular Encefálico em um hospital do sertão da Paraíba. Participaram da pesquisa 14 profissionais fisioterapeutas que trabalhavam na área vermelha do setor de urgência e emergência, na unidade de terapia intensiva (UTI) e nas enfermarias em um hospital no sertão paraibano. Os dados coletados foram obtidos através de um questionário que conteve questões sobre o nível de formação profissional, tempo de primeira intervenção fisioterapêutica após identificação do AVE, os recursos fisioterapêuticos utilizados e/ou priorizados por esses profissionais precocemente, a presença ou ausência de capacitação em Fisioterapia Neurológica, forma de encaminhamento para a fisioterapia, bem como, opiniões sobre a importância da assistência fisioterapêutica no pós-imediato de AVE e o conhecimento acerca das complicações secundárias ao AVE e sua prevenção. Dos profissionais estudados, 85,7% (n= 12) possui pós-graduação, sendo 50% (n=7) com especialização em Fisioterapia em UTI/Hospital, dentre os quais, 92,9% (n=13) não apresentam nenhuma capacitação ou curso direcionado ao conhecimento específico em Fisioterapia Neurofuncional; 64,3% (n= 9) foram formados em IES particular com tempo de formação entre 6 a 10 anos (35,7; n= 5). Todos os profissionais concordam que é necessária uma atuação fisioterapêutica precoce, sendo preconizado os recursos manuais, a cinesioterapia, posicionamento no leito e ajustes dos parâmetros ventilatórios. Sendo as complicações motoras e respiratórias as mais citadas dentre as complicações secundárias. Pode-se concluir que nenhum dos profissionais relatou nada a respeito das complicações sensitivas e que não apresentam capacitações para atendimento específico a esse coletivo, com isso verifica-se assim, a necessidade de educação permanente em saúde para a renovação desses conhecimentos e prestação de cuidado adequado.Palavras-chave: acidente vascular encefálico, intervenção fisioterapêutica, pós imediato de acidente vascular encefálico
Introduction: The home environment has been appointed as the extrinsic factor that most influences child development. Objective:The objective is analyzing the opportunities for motor development in homes of infants treated at an early stimulation sector in Paraiba. Method:The study was conducted in an early stimulation sector of a Physiotherapy School Clinic of a Higher Education Institution in the state of Paraiba, Brazil, and consisted of 10 infants' parents attended. The instrument used was the questionnaire Affordances in the Home Environment for Motor Development (AHEMD) 18-42 months. After the questionnaire application, the data collected were introduced and classified with the help of a Microsoft Excel application (AHEMD Calculator VPbeta 1.5.xls).
Introduction: The lumbar pain is a set of painful manifestations that reach the lower back and sacroiliac, manifested in both sexes and all age groups, but increases dramatically with age, it is regarded as an important cause of disability, ranging from acute, subacute and chronic pain. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the influence of lumbar pain in the functional capacity of elderly residents in the city of Cajazeiras-PB. Methodology: This is a cross-sectional study, analytical with a quantitative approach, conducted with 43 elderly patients with lumbar pain attended at the elderly pastoral meetings of St John Bosco church in the city of Cajazeiras-PB. It was used as a collection tool a questionnaire with socio demographic data, the visual analogue scale (VAS) and the Roland-Morris disability questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using the computer program SPSS version 20.0, and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: It was observed that most of the elderly were female, widowed, illiterate and predominant age group being 71-82 years old. The pain was classified as intense (39.53%) for most of the sample and through the Roland-Morris was established that all participants showed some degree of disability, and (62.6%) had severe disability.
