This research was conducted to analyze the relationship between interest and learning outcomes of Cartography courses. This course is contracted by 19 Social Studies Education students in the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. The data consists of interest in Cartography courses (questionnaire) and learning outcomes of the Cartography course aspect of knowledge and skills (documentation studies). There is no relationship between interest and learning outcomes of Cartography, both learning outcomes aspect of knowledge (rcount ≤ rtable = 0,0583 ≤ 0,4555 (n = 17; α = 0,05)) and skills (-ttabel ≤ t0 ≤ ttabel = -2,11 ≤ 0,88 ≤ 2,11 (n = 17; ½α = 0,025)). Thus, students who have a high interest in Cartography courses do not necessarily have high Cartography learning outcomes (and vice versa), both learning outcomes aspect of knowledge and skills. However, the results of this study cannot be generalized in terms of interest, because interest data is known to have no homogeneous variance (F > F critical one-tail = 1.441,30 > 2,27).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
