Touch functionality has been integrated in LCDs of progressively larger sizes. When bonded directly to an LCD surface, thin (< 2.0 mm) ion‐exchanged (IOX'd) glass such as Corning® Gorilla® Glass, offers an ideal solution that both protects a panel and enables better ambient viewing quality. However, because the glass is directly bonded to the LCD, we must pay closer attention to touch mura. In this work, we will classify mura modes associated with touch action and discuss their suppression with Corning Gorilla Glass and the Optical C lear Adhesive (OCA) materials utilized for bonding.
AG glass demonstrated strong scratch resistance and mechanical strength similar to Gorilla Glass® without AG. Surface treatment optimization needs to consider the main attributes: ambient CR, sparkle, and resolution of the display with suitable surface treatment for the Auto Interior display applications
Optical properties of Corning® Gorilla® Glass with wideviewing-angle AR and AG surface treatment are explored in the light of angular reflectance, and transmittance measurements including diffused and specular reflectance, angular color, and transmission haze. We propose methods to accurately measure these properties and take into account the viewer's experience in Auto Interior applications with improved color matching at large viewing angles.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
