Abstract- The pandemic condition has made the business world sluggish. As a sector engaged in services, tourism is also affected. This is due to the government's prohibition of opening a business that has the potential to invite large crowds due to the need for physical distancing as an effort to prevent the occurrence of covid 19 transmission. However, since the enactment of the new normal, namely the period of adaptation to new habits, the tourism sector has made improvements. As one of the areas that has good tourism potential in West Java, Garut continues to make efforts to make itself a tourist destination city that is feasible and safe to visit. Besides having sufficient tourism potential, open nature-based tourism makes Garut Regency a magnet for tourists during pandemic. This study aims to determine how the Garut regency branding strategy as a tourist destination and what are the challenges during pandemic. The researcher uses the theory of branding strategy initiated by Kotler (2009) which explains that the branding strategy has three main components, namely; brand positioning, brand personality, and brand identity. The method in this research uses qualitative methods with interview, observation, and documentation techniques in data collection efforts. Abstrak- Kondisi pandemic menjadikan dunia usaha menjadi lesu. Sebagai sector yang bergerak di bidang jasa, pariwisata juga turut terkena imbasnya. Hal tersebut karena adanya larangan pemerintah untuk membuka usaha yang berpotensi mengundang kerumunan orang banyak karena perlunya physical distancing sebagai upaya pencegahan terjadinya penularan covid 19. Namun sejak diberlakukannya new normal, yakni masa adaptasi pada kebiasaan baru, sektor pariwisata melakukan pembenahan. Sebagai salah satu daerah yang memiliki potensi wisata yang cukup baik di Jawa Barat, Garut terus melakukan upaya untuk menjadikan dirinya sebagai kota destinasi wisata yang layak dan aman untuk dikunjungi. Disamping memiliki potensi wisata yang memadai, wisata yang berbasis alam terbuka menjadikan kabupaten garut memiliki magnet tersendiri bagi para wistawan di masa pandemi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana strategi branding kabupaten Garut sebagai destinasi wisata serta apa saja tantangannya di masa pandemic. Peneliti menggunakan teori strategi branding yang digagas oleh Kotler (2009) yang memaparkan bahwa strategi branding memiliki tiga komponen utama, yakni; brand positioning, brand personality, dan brand identity. Adapun metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara observasi, dan dokumentasi dalam upaya pengumpulan data.
Purpose: The aim of the media literacy workshop through the review of the Tilik film is to build awareness and understanding for Karyamekar associations in an effort to ward off hoaxes that are rife on social media. The discussion and review of this film was in the context of the implementation of Community Service which was held by the Garut University Service Team in collaboration with the Youth Organization of Karyamekar Village, Cilawu District, Garut Regency. Method: The method used is a workshop and film surgery "TILIK". Results: The results of these activities indicated that the workshop with the discussion method and providing examples of the latest cases (film review) was quite effective. This can be seen in the enthusiasm of the participants, as well as the ongoing discussion process. Conclusion: The Tilik Film Review activity has a very positive impact on the participants to foster their interest in media literacy. Keywords: Media literacy, Hoax
Purpose: Digital-based learning management workshop is the existence of new knowledge that can be applied by teachers during the learning process with their students, especially making questions or quizzes using Google Classroom and Google Forms. The subjects of this workshop are the teachers of the State Elementary School 1 Kota Kulon, Garut Kota. Method: A digital-based learning workshop with 2 sessions, namely the presentation of material and the practice of using digital media. Results: Online learning workshops that have been organized by the Garut University Service Team provide new understanding and skills to SDN 1 Kulon City teachers in using various digital platforms that can support the learning process during the Covid 19 pandemic. The drawback of this activity is the limited facilities and infrastructure available owned by teachers to support digital-based learning, as there are still few teachers who have laptops or computers to support learning. Contribution: of this activity is to support schools to encourage the ability of educators to carry out digital-based learning, especially during the pandemic of COVID-19.
Purpose: Health communication has a strategic role in minimizing the risk of Covid-19 transmission. This is because the public's understanding of the implementation of the health protocols recommended by the government has not been implemented equally among all groups. One of the community groups that is quite vulnerable is a group of students in Kampung Lengkong Kaler, Desa Samarang, Kecamatan Samarang, Kabupaten Garut, who carry out offline learning activities as an additional effort of online learning which is carried out only twice a week. This activity happens to be a cluster for the spread of the virus if there is no health protocol such as the use of masks. The purpose of this activity is as an effort to prevent the spread of Covid 19 through Health Socialization to adolescents. Research methodology: The methodology used in this activity is health socialization and offline learning assistance to adolescents using the Peer Education approach. Peer educators or peer educators are proven to have considerable potential at adolescence in terms of attitudes. This is caused by peers who represent an attitude of acceptance, and there is motivation for adolescents who acknowledge by their group. Results: There was a change in behavior and the application of new habits through post-socialization health protocols and assistance to adolescents who were members of the study groups in Lengkong Kaler Village. Limitation: The inhibiting factor for health socialization activities with a peer education approach is the limited media space that represents students to conduct socialization simulations to their peers. Contribution: The solution to the existing obstacles is to use the Garut University Service Team post on loan by local residents. Keywords: Health communication, Socialization, Peer education
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui Strategi Komunikasi pencegahan trafficking yang dilakukan oleh Dinas Sosial Kabupaten Garut dengan merangkul komunitas masyarakat di Kabupaten Garut. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, studi pustaka, dan dokumentasi untuk pengumpulan data agar mendapatkan data yang objektif. Hasil dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa besarnya partisipasi komunitas masyarakat lokal dalam upaya pencegahan trafficking turut membantu pemerintah menurunkan angka tindak trafficking yang semakin tinggi. Fungsi organisasi dalam KPI (Koalisi Perempuan Indonesia) dan FKPM (Forum Komunikasi Polisi Masyarakat) di Kabupaten Garut berjalan cukup efektif dalam Pada fungsi informasi, KPI dan FKPM menjadi mitra dinas Sosial dalam menSosialisasikan tindak trafficking pada masyarakat. Pada fungsi regulatif, KPI dan FKPM turut memberikan edukasi berupa Sosialisasi UU berkenaan dengan hukuman yang bisa dipidanakan kepada pelaku trafficking. Pada fungsi persuasif dan integratif, KPI dan FKPM selaku mitra dinsos mengajak dan membuka diri pada masyarakat untuk tidak segan melaporkan kasus yang berkenaan dengan tindak trafficking di lingkungannya masing-masing. Hal ini sebagai upaya untuk memutus mata rantai tindak trafficking yang selama ini tidak disadari oleh masyarakat awam.
