Two new species are described among the eight different ascidians collected in the northwest and the south-east bathyal bottoms of New Zealand. None is common to the littoral fauna.
Fifteen ascidian species were identified from 1 to 12 m depth in coastal waters of Bahrain, Arabian Gulf. Three new species, Aplidium rubripunctum, Didemnum yolky and Symplegma bahraini are described. Four species collected are cosmopolitan. This study increases knowledge of the ascidian fauna of an area for which only sporadic collections have previously been made.
