Abitz coordinates the geochemical analyses. Mr. Dave Belski is responsible for the routine collection of brine from the drill holes in the repository, sample measurement and processing, and data'analysis. Mr. Belski and Ms. Merrie Martin spent tedious hours scraping salt encrustations from the ribs of the repository. Ms. Martin authored the preliminary draft of the section of this report on weep encrustations, which was significantly modified by Mr. Darin Milligan. Mr. Miiligan prepared the section on moisture that is available to be squeezed from clay present in the Salado Formation beneath the WIPP site. Mr. Robert Sobocinski provided support and calculation verification for several sections of the report, especially the sections on brine geochemistry, weep encrustations, and moisture present in the clay. Ms. Pamela James-Lipponer played a key role in the production of this report. Not only was she responsible for data entry and quality assurance of the brine inflow data analysis, she wrote much of Section 2, coordinated the drafting and word processing efforts of the IT staff in the Albuquerque office, and handled most of the logistics of the production of this report. Ms. Susan Shipley steoped in at the l lth hour to relieve over-scheduled staff, coordinating the final production, and solved last-minute problems. Dr. Jonathan Myers provided input on the importance of the BSEP to the assessment of longterm facility performance, as well as critical reading and editorial assistance. Critical reading and helpful suggestions were also provided by Dr. Bill Roggenthen, Dr. Start Patchet, Mr. Norbert Rempe, and Mr. Bob Bills.
