Abstract. The paper aims to analyze a series of OBD data from a Volkswagen Passat 2.0 tdi, 103 kW, equipped with an automatic DSG transmission, while traveling in the city. Some parameters are analyzed, with a special emphasis on the relation between the engine speed and vehicle speed, presenting also an example of using the information provided by the OBD to determine the gear ratios. The gear steps and the way they are used while driving the vehicle are identified in the end.
An automatic braking system is an important future step in attending the autonomous vehicle. This system increases the active safety of a vehicle, significantly reducing road accidents, and lowering the effects of accidents. The paper will present the steps that will develop the autonomous braking systems in conformity with the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) from the USA. As well the paper will present the modelling and simulating of the automatic braking systems of a vehicle from the middle class using LMS Amesim software.
Abstract. Brake system diagnosis is one of the most common and necessary technical operations applied to the car, regardless of its type and operating phases. Measuring the diagnostic parameters on a roller brake tester is a fast operation with no disassembly necessary. Measuring the run-out of friction surfaces of brake discs with a dial gauge is an action that requires more extensive preparatory operations but it offers a high accuracy of the results. The paper aims to analyze the correlation between the dial gauge measured values and the diagnostic obtained using the brake roller tester.
Abstract. The body vibrations caused by the disturbing forces which acts on this one cause many problems connected, generaly, with the passengers confort (mechanical vibrations, noises) and also connected with the body reliability. The paper presents the study of some craks appeared on the roof panels of the body of a minibus and the study of some attempts to improve the behaviour. The study was made using the modal analysis in two steps. First was studied the behaviour of the hole structure and than was studied only the panel where cracks appear. The analysis of the first four eigenmodes confirmed cause of the cracks. Finally, it was offered an improved solution.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
