All Formal education is oriented towards the continuity of one's education to carry out formal learning activities from the pre-school level to the university level. This article asks about the involvement of non-formal education to fulfil the learning needs of students during the Covid-19 epidemic as a form of companion, complement, support and requirement. This article uses a qualitative descriptive design that takes the ideas, sources and theories based on reference books, related journals and experiences as well as from sources those who are experienced in their fields. So this article, the author states that the involvement of non-formal education is divided into two points, namely: 1) Direct involvements: a) extracurricular involvement, b) technology system involvement of subjects matters, c) involvement of school activity companions, d) involvement of supporting of vision and mission of the school. 2) Indirect involvements: a) involvement of companion learning resource’s needed, b) involvement of flexibility learning activities, c) involvement of potential trainers of students, d) involvement of pre-requisites for admission to favourite study and e) involvement the lifelong education's changement.
This research concerns the students' ability in writing recount text. The problem of the study was: Teachers still used conventional methods in every meeting, causing boredom among the students. Students had less vocabulary, and Students did not master grammar. Students were unable to express their ideas. This research used a non-experimental research design. The data were collected by using the test. To obtain the data, the grade X of MAS Muhammadiyah 2 Kisaran is selected as the respondent. The research subject was grade X MIPA 1 and X MIPA 2. Each class consists of 30 students. The total number of students was 60 students. The reason for choosing this class was because the writer found some students' problems in writing recount text. After the data were analyzed, it could be concluded that there was an effect of the graphic organizer method on the student's ability to write recount text at grade X of MAS Muhammadiyah 2 Kisaran in the 2021/2022 Academic Year. It was proven that there was a high correlation between using the clustering technique and the student's ability to write recount text tcount > ttable. With the description tcount = 7.49 while the ttable = 2.002 (5%).and their relevance in formal evidence to solve real problems.
Reading is one of many ways to get information, where people can find it from television and internet. As reading dominates all activities in the English subject, the language components,namely pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary should also be learnt to support the language skills. Based on the English teacher interview result that authentic reading materials have never been used by the teachers, reading comprehension on the eighth grade students of junior high school of SMP Swasta Mma Uisu Medan so it was necessary to conduct a research in this school. The research design was quasi experimental. It began from conducting homogeneity test, deciding the experimental class and the control class, giving activities to the control class using the common technique and material usually applied by the English teacher and treatments to the experimental class that was using authentic materials in teaching reading, then giving the same post-test to both classes, and the last analyzing the results of the post test by using t-test. The result of this research The analysis of the post test results showed that there was a significant effect of using English authentic that of reading materials the experimental class got higher mean score than the control class (65, 1>57, 5) of the students’ reading achievement. Then, the result of data analysis using SPSS showed that the t-test value (2-tailed) 0.000, was less than 0.05.is expected to provide useful information for the English teacher to use interesting materials, that is, authentic materials in the English teaching learning process, especially in teaching reading comprehension, since the authentic materials have never been used at SMP Swasta Mma Uisu Medan. This research aims to describe and analyze the form of politeness language in conversation classroom. Interaction between the students and the teachers. The approach which is used qualitative descriptive. Thi at s research activity uses data collection methods, namely competent free involvement methods, and notes. Data of this research is the language expressions in the form of words and sentences of the speakers. The data source of this research is used oral data source in the form of speech event between the speakers, namely between the students to their teachers. The politeness language for an interaction with the teachers in classroom learning is very dominant in the three modes of speech, they are 1) request; 2) application; and 3) expect. Asking is a directive politeness act that has the goal of expecting the speech partner to be given something as requested by the speaker.Key Words : Politeness, Politeness Language, Students, Teachers. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan dan mengkaji kesopanan berbicara dalam bahasa Inggris, khususnya interaksi antara siswa dan guru di kelas bahasa Inggris. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Pendekatan dan catatan keterlibatan kompeten independen digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data untuk penelitian ini. Ungkapan bahasa berupa kata-kata dan kalimat penutur merupakan data penelitian. Sumber data lisan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tindakan berbicara antara penutur, khususnya siswa dan guru. Etiket bahasa mendominasi interaksi dengan dosen dalam tiga bidang: 1) permintaan, 2) implementasi, dan 3) harapan. meminta adalah kesantunan pribadi yang mengharapkan lawan bicara menyampaikan sesuatu sesuai permintaan penutur.Kata kunci: kesantunan, kesantunan berbahasa, siswa, guru.
The title of this study is the effect of word square model on students’ vocabulary at grade X of SMK Tamansiswa Sukadamai in Academic Year 2019/2020. The objectives of the study is to describe how the implementation of teaching english vocabulary by using word square at SMA.N.1. Buntu Pane. The population of this research was taken from the grade X students at SMK Tamansiswa Sukadamai, which have 102 students. The data were collected by using 10 essay question. Several steps of work have been done preliminary. The further steps is to follow the active concerning with the data. Starting from library check, confirming the location, asking permission from the pre-test and post-test value that worked by students in experiment class and control class are very significant. The data were analyzed by t-test. The result of students’ vocabulary. It was suggested that using media in teaching can made the students feel enjoy when they study about vocabulary and according to this skripsi the teacher can increase their teaching skill.
