Great Street is required for making a great city. Bandung will develop new City Centre Service (CCS) in Gede Bage with Bandung Technopolis concept which one of the main programs is making Bandung Great Street. It is important to see potencies and problems based on the user perspective so that the concepts will be applicative and effective. Using the perception-based approach, this paper aims to identify the perception of the street user in Bandung based on their experience in using the streets in Bandung, so it can lead to a contextual concept. From Jacobs's Great Street Criteria, the PPS's criteria and Bandung Great Street criteria can be summarized into five normative variables such as activities, comfortable and amenities, walkability and transportation option, visual attractiveness, and local identity. The analyzed variables are preferences of the favorite street in Bandung, the reasons, the real usages of the street, the way of using the street, the companion in using the street, and the interesting things. These variables represent all normative variables which combined with three perception variables such as cognitive, affective and conative. After analyzing the data, it can be concluded that the respondents prefer Ir. H. Djuanda Street, Braga Street, and RE Martadinata Street as the most favorite street, and choose Cihampelas Street as the least favorite street.
Title : Review of Pedestrian Friendly Concept in Engineering Faculty Area of Sriwijaya University The Engineering Faculty is part of Sriwijaya University Masterplan development scenario. The change of the vision and mission of the University has caused amendment to the activities, facilities and also the existing building structure. Pedestrian Friendly Concept is a concept that could answers common problems of the existing Engineering Faculty Design, such as the issue of sustainability, energy efficiency, as well as a re-attempt to humanize region-oriented vehicle. Orientation and arrangement of the siteplan should consider the human scale, especially for achievement within a campus. The purpose of this observation and analysis is to obtained several issues related to the implementation of the concept. Ends-mean method helps classify the existing problems so that it becomes a contextual pedestrian-friendly concept.
A shopping mall is one of the most favorite places to hang-out for the young generation; especially Generation Z. Generation Z has its characteristic of shopping behavior due to digital technology development. It affects their perception of their environment and then influences their way of choosing information from a building to solve specific tasks. This paper investigates the correlation of gender, information source, and visit frequency of Generation Z to their egress wayfinding in the real-world scenario. Their shopping experience preferences have an essential role in constructing the egress decision-making process' attributes. The research used a qualitative approach by conducting a semi-structured interview with 70 student-consumers in a shopping mall located around school and housing estates in the Southern Bandung. Participants were asked about their preferences and perception of the building. Then, they performed their egress wayfinding in evacuation scenarios and answered questions about the reason for route choice and aids from the environment. The findings show a strong correspondence between Generation Z's characteristics and their evacuation egress strategy. The study emphasizes the importance of understanding Generation Z's shopping behavior to design shopping experiences that help visitors orient themselves in the building, especially in an evacuation situation.
