Changes in land use can lead to an increased risk of flooding in an area. One example of flood conditions due to land use change is that occurred in the Diponegoro University Campus area in Tembalang. Most parking lots in this area comprises of conventional paving block system. It is basically a permeable pavement types, but in reality, existing conventional paving block systems cannot infiltrate storm water into the soil. There are two possible causes: first, the type of paving block is not a permeable type of concrete paving block and the second is the open graded base (OGB) and subbase do not have a high permeability, or a combination of both. This condition generates stormwater runoff in this area to be high, and causes on site and/or out side inundation. In this study, permeable paving block system (P2BS) was developed to find the parking lots with zero runoff.
Critical land has become a problem in the world. Critical land is very detrimental to the health of the land. Several factors cause the land to become critical. One of them is the use of land that is not by the capabilities of the land. If no repairs made, the land will be physically, chemically, and biologically damaged. Klaten Regency is one of the regencies in Central Java Province, which has quite extensive critical land. It is necessary to monitor and improve land quality regularly to avoid critical land problems. Data and information on critical land obtained from Klaten Regency processed into a decision support system. Decision Support System uses a combination of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Technique For Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) methods. In this research, a Web-based Decision Support System created to determine the critical land area in Klaten Regency. The information system created has an alternative menu and criteria that determine the potential of critical land in Klaten Regency, making it easier for users to obtain information.
The increasing sedimentation of Mrica reservoir shows that the sedimentation control has not been effective. The sedimentation control has been made include the disposal of sediments that settle in the reservoir by dredging or flushing. However, the results are not optimal. This is caused by the large volume of sediment entering the reservoir each year. The controlling volume of sediment that goes into the reservoir has also been carried out by conducting a watershed conservation program and building a check dam in the upstream Mrica reservoir. However, the existing check dam is still less effective in controlling sediments, especially suspended load sediments, that are transported in the river. Therefore this study was carried out by adopting the sediment trap concept to deposit sediments that escaped from the check dam. This study simulated changes in the width of the downstream channel of the check dam by three variations using HEC-RAS. There was a width of 20%, 40%, and 60% wider than the initial width. The results showed the effect of changing the channel width on volume sediment deposited. Based on the results of the study, the change in width to wider than the initial width could increase the volume of sediment deposits.
The application of large-scale social restrictions (LSSR) during the Covid 19 pandemic in Indonesia significantly impacted the tourism sector. A Sustainable Rural Tourism model is expected to develop tourist village development during the Covid 19 pandemic through the WEB GIS (Website Geographical Information Systems) approach. It creates smart tourism through tourist information systems integrated with tourist websites. Ngerangan Tourist Village in Klaten Regency is a village where most of the population's economy is dependent on MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium enterprises) and farming activities. The research aims to formulate a tourism promotion model in Ngerangan tourism village through WEB GIS. The method used is quantitative. First, identifying the data needs such as spatial data (tourist attractions, tourist safety routes types, and infrastructure for implementing health protocols) and non-spatial data (information on MSME and virtual tours). Second, designing the tourism promotion system through WEB GIS and third, testing to see the output of the WEB GIS produced. The research output is Web GIS using story maps application contains two spatial information about the Ngerangan tourist village. First, spatial information about tourist attractions includes locations, photos, and descriptions of tourist attractions. Second, spatial information regarding health protocols facilities during the Covid-19 pandemic includes locations, photos, and descriptions of health protocol facilities
Klaten Regency is one of the regencies in Central Java Province that has an increasing population every year. This can cause an increase in built-up land for human activities. The built-up land needs to be monitored so that the construction is in accordance with the regional development plan so that it does not cause problems such as the occurrence of critical land. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor land use regularly. One method for monitoring land use is the remote sensing method. The remote sensing method is much more efficient in mapping land use because without having to survey the field. The remote sensing method utilizes satellite imagery data that can be processed for land use classification. This study uses the sentinel 2 satellite image data with the Object-Based Image Analysis (OBIA) algorithm to obtain land use classification. Sentinel 2 satellite imagery is a medium resolution image category with a spatial resolution of 10 meters. The land use classification can be used to see the distribution of built-up land in Klaten Regency without having to conduct a field survey. The results of the study obtained a segmentation scale parameter value of 60 and a merge scale parameter value of 85. The classification results obtained by 5 types of land use with OBIA. Agricultural land use dominates with an area of 50% of the total area.
