The development of the creative home industry in the art sector in Indonesia shows promising growth for those who do it. In its development, many art home industries have grown and developed in the community that have been able to show their independence in supporting the nation's economy. Home Art industries that are currently developing in society include: traditional crafts, traditional musical instrument craftsmen, fashion and dance accessories craftsmen, and so on. The purpose of this study was to determine the model of the art home industry through training programs for making clothes and traditional dance accessories in an effort to empower the potential of housewives as the main actors to help support the family's economic independence. The concept of the art home industry is one of the approaches to the creative industry program in the arts developed by the government. The creative industry is an economic concept in the new era that intensifies information and creativity by relying on ideas and stock of knowledge from human resources (HR) as the main production factors. This training program is carried out in three stages of activity, namely the preparation stage, implementation stage and evaluation stage. Training activity data were obtained from unstructured interviews, observation and activity evaluation questionnaires to measure the accuracy of the training program. The data were analyzed based on a qualitative approach. The results showed that there is a strategic role of dance clothing training activities in an effort to develop the art home industry to empower the potential of housewives in strengthening the resilience of family economic independence.
This study aimed to obtain result overview of dance learning in dance extracurricular activities as application of creative character education in elementary school. The method used in this research was an experimental method with data collection techniques through observation studies, techniques, literature studies, interview techniques and documentation studies. The sample consisted of 23 elementary school students at SD Lab UPI School. The findings show that the process of strengthening character education in dance extracurricular activities can be realized through various character learning habits that can be done at several stages of learning activities. The conclusion of this study is the strengthening of character education in students can be achieved in extracurricular dance activities through prayer learning activities, singing national songs, independent and group learning, creative processes, appreciation and creation.
Dance students in university tend to have minimum understanding and skills in processing music to address the creativity needs in new dance works. Therefore, effective and critical learning strategies are needed so they are able to process music to create dance works. This research aims at enhancing dance students’ understanding and skills to process music in creating new dance works in the future. It was conducted using an action research design involving 30 dance students at one of the universities in Indonesia. The results showed that, in terms of skills and understanding of music, students were not used to processing music for their dance works, since they were mostly assisted by music stylists. Through internal and external music exploration learning, the musical dance students’ skills could be improved. Therefore, the findings of this research are recommended to be used as an alternative learning in enhancing dance students’ musical ability. The implementation of dance studios in the community has a function as a forum for non-formal education whose existence is currently growing and developing in the community. Today, there are many dance studios in the community whose orientation is not only in the scope of social activities but has become part of business activities for their implementation. This article aims to provide an overview of the management of traditional dance studios in the Bandung-West Java area, Indonesia, whose management concept has a business orientation. This research was conducted through a qualitative research paradigm using descriptive analysis method. Research data obtained from interviews and documentation. Interviews were conducted with studio managers and dance trainers who teach at the Jaipongan and Classical Dance Studios in Bandung City, West Java, Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that in an effort to realize quality dance studio learning, a dance studio management system is needed that has good management functions based on aspects of planning, organizing, mobilizing, and supervising, so that the implementation of dance education in the studio is able to produce human resources who have reliable expertise in the field of dance. dance and can be used in their daily activities. In addition, good management of art studios has been able to become an economic support for the actors who manage the studios in it. The conclusion of the research results can be a source of reference for prospective new studio developers whose concept will be directed at business management.
The lockdown policy is considered to be an important thing and should be done during the pandemic, after being implemented in many developed and developing countries including Indonesia. This condition affects dance training and education activities in the studio which are carried out online through various conference applications, such as the Zoom Meeting learning application. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of online dance learning and teaching activities carried out at the Traditional Dance Studio. The case study method is used in this research in a qualitative research paradigm. Data was collected by observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data is presented descriptively through coding the sub-themes of the problem to explain in detail the process of implementing online learning activities carried out in one of the traditional dance studios in West Java, Indonesia. The results showed that traditional dance practice learning activities held in dance studios had the concept of online learning using learning tools such as zoom meetings. Teachers and students optimize learning interactions in the concept of distance learning. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of scientific pawn groups in the Dance Study Program in finding new concepts and theories that can be implemented in various learning activities at the Dance Joint Study Program. In addition, these findings will be a new recommendation in producing the concept of online dance lessons that can be carried out in non-formal education environments.
