Purwodadi Botanical Garden is a botanical garden that specifically designated to ex situ plant conservation with typical habitats of low lands and dry areas. In an effort to protect and maintain the collection of plants, one of the things that must be carried out is the monitoring of plant pests and diseases. The research aimed to find out the plant pests and diseases that infect in plant collections at Vak I-V in Purwodadi Botanical Gardens. The method used was a descriptive observation and literature study, while the secondary data were books and environmental maps. There were nine types of pests and nine types of diseases. Pests and diseases are dominated by Leaf Spot Disease, Black Ants, Red Ants, and Lawana candida. They attack some plants, such as from family of Sapotaceae, Sterculiaceae, Mimosaceae, Moraceae, etc. The results of this study can be used as a material consideration in efforts to prevent and increase ex-situ conservation in the Purwodadi Botanical Garden.
Ledakan populasi hama wereng jagungmerupakan fenomena baru di Indonesia khususnya di Provinsi Lampung. Serangan hama ini telah menyebabkan tanaman jagung menjadi puso (hopperburn) dan menyebabkan gagal panen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) pengaruh beberapa teknik pengendalian terhadap populasi hama wereng jagung,(2) teknik pengendalian yang efektif dalam menurunkan populasi hama wereng jagung, dan (3) jumlah daun teroviposisi.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kebun percobaan di Desa Muara Putih, Kecamatan Natar, Kabupaten Lampung Selatan dan di Laboratorium Hama dan Penyakit Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Perlakuan disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 6 perlakuan, yaitu aplikasi insektisida kimia sintetik klorpirifos + sipermetrin 2 ml/l, aplikasi insektisida kimia sintetik sipermetrin 2 ml/l, aplikasi n insektisida nabati Tithonia diversifolia 3 ml/l, aplikasi cendawan entomopatogen Metarhizium anisopliae 20 g/l, aplikasi pengendalian mekanik perangkap plastik mika bening berperekat ukuran 2,5 m x 0,5 m, dan control dan setiap perlakuan diulang tiga kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa populasi hama wereng jagung yang telah diaplikasikan satu kali dengan kelima jenis teknik pengendalian nyata lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan kontrol pada pengamatan 2, 3, dan 14 HSA (hari setelah aplikasi).Sedangkan pada aplikasi dua kali, kelima aplikasi teknik pengendalian yang diterapkan berpengaruh nyata terhadap populasi hama wereng jagung pada setiap hari pengamatan. Dari seluruh teknik pengendalian, aplikasi insektisida kimia sintetik klorpirifos + sipermetrin dan insektisida kimia sintetik bahan aktif lambda sihalotrin efektif menurunkan populasi hama wereng jagung. Jumlah daun teroviposisi oleh hama wereng sangat berfluktuasi tergantung pada jenisteknik aplikasi dan waktu pengamatan.
