Tooth extraction will cause a wound in the form of alveolar bone that opens in the oral cavity. Mangosteen peel has various pharmacological effects such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antidiabetic, and antibacterial. The goal of this study was to find out the effectiveness of Mangosteen Peel Ethanol Extract (Garcinia mangostana L.) 45% with 90% in speeding up the healing time of post-tooth extraction wounds in Wistar rats. This type of research is an experimental laboratory with a post-test pattern only control group design. Conducted at the Laboratory of Pharmacology & Laboratory of Traditional Medicine Faculty of Pharmacy, University of North Sumatra January-March 2021. The animal is a male Wistar rat of 32 who is physically healthy. The size of the sample is determined by Federer's formula, the minimum sample size for each treatment is 16 rats. The results of the study that there is a significant relationship between the amount of fibroblast tissue per field of view in Wistar Rats after tooth extraction with the administration of mangosteen peel (Garcinia mangostana L.) with a concentration of 45% and mangosteen peel (Garcinia mangostana L.) concentration 90%, p = 0.036 (p<0.05). Mangosteen skin extract (Garcinia mangostana L.) is 45% and 90% effective in speeding up wound healing time after extraction of rat teeth Wistar. Mangosteen skin extract (Garcinia mangostana L.) is 90% more effective than turmeric extract (Curcuma longa) 45% in speeding up wound healing time post-extraction of rat teeth Wistar due to the flavonoid content in mangosteen skin extract (Garcinia mangostana L.) 90% which helps accelerate wound healing higher than skin extract Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) 45%.
This research purpose is to show the inhibition of the extract of ethanol and ethyl acetate stem bark and leaf of Raru according to the causes of bacterial E-coli (ATCC 25922) and St Aureus (ATCC 25923) with variation concentration 10%, 5%, 2.5% and 1.25%. Methods used were diffusion with disk blank paper and disk cloramphenicol as a control. The highest result observed on 10% concentration among the variation. This concentration then compared with control and the result as follow for stem bark of ethanol and ethyl acetate exctract for bacterial E
In the midst of this developing society, people in Indonesia still use traditional health services, especially baby massage to traditional birth attendants. Baby massage to a shaman has become a hereditary tradition. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the behavior of mothers in doing baby massage independently at the Dian Maternity Clinic, West Jakarta. This type of research is an analytical survey. Then analyze the dynamics of the correlation between phenomena or between risk factors and effect factors is a phenomenon that results in an effect (influence). There is no influence between the mother’s education factor on the mother’s behavior in doing baby massage independently at the Dian Maternity Clinic in 2022 with a p value of 0,580. There is no influence between the mother’s knowledge factor with a p value of 0,551. There is an influence between the mother’s attitude factor on the mother’s behavior with a p value of 0,021.
Every year an estimated 529,000 women die as a result of complications arising from pregnancy and childbirth. Labor pain is a physiological condition, an unpleasant feeling that occurs during labor. Nonpharmacological pain management can increase satisfaction during labor because the patient can control his feelings and strength, one of which is the texture of respiratory relaxation. The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of respiratory relaxation techniques on pain adaptation in maternity mothers. This type of research is descriptively correlational, using the One Group Pretest-Postest approach. Location in RSU Royal Prima Jalan Ayahanda Number 68A, Sei Putih Tengah, Medan Petisah, North Sumatra, september - November 2020. The population of 43 people, determining the number of samples with the formula slovin, so that the sample was obtained as many as 30 people. The data analysis used is a normality test using the Shapiro Wilk test, because the number of samples is <50. Bivariate analysis of the data is distributed normally using an at-dependent test (paired t-test), while if the data is not distributed normally using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, with a meaningful limit of <0.05. The results of the study score change in the level of pain Wilcoxon test results at the time of the pre-test test the result of a mean value of 3,466, at the time of the post-test test the mean value of 3,166. So the result of the value Z = -2,714 then p-value as much as 0.007<0.05 so that it is concluded ho rejected and Ha received, which means there is an effect of giving respiratory relaxation techniques to changes in pain in maternity mothers when-I at RSU Royal Prima in 2020.
Injury is the loss or damage of some body tissues, due to a factor that interferes with the body's protective system. The results of several studies state turmeric rhizome extract is effective in wound healing. This study aims to find out the effect of turmeric extract (Curcuma longa) on wound healing in white rats. This type of research is experimental with the approach of Pre-test and Post-test group only control design, conducted November to December 2020. The samples used were turmeric rhizomes (Curcuma Longa) and male white rats. Determination of the size of the sample according to Federer's formula, so that the number of samples as many as 25 mice, the division of 4 treatment groups and 1 control group. The results of the study from the Anova test obtained a Sig value. Calculate 0.000 while sig value (α) is 0.05 which means sig value. Count sig < (α). This means that there is a real influence of the administration of turmeric extract (Curcuma Longa) on the healing of sores in mice. Turmeric ethanol extract (Curcuma Longa) has several bioactive compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins that play a role in wound healing. The optimum concentration of turmeric ethanol extract (Curcuma Longa) that can cure sores in white rats is 5%. The highest percentage of cures on k-14 days was in the positive control (Bioplacenton®) which was 95% and followed by extract 5% v/ v with a cure percentage of 90%. The creamy preparation of turmeric ethanol extract (Curcuma Longa) has an ability that is close to Bioplacenton® in healing wounds in mice.
