Nowadays, utilitarian value might be cheap and practical but people usually interested in a little aesthetical too, thus automatically creates a new concept of environment in order to appreciate creativities. This innovation is an attempt to introduce a fresh concept to the environmental art by combining few elements of art with a modern concept design using ceramic materials. The objective of this innovation is to produce a set of ceramic art ware using chess concept by anticipating cartoon characters that lead to harmonica movement. A thorough designing process was done to finalize the concept and followed by a typical ceramic manufacturing process that lead to the final product. Ultimately the harmonic chess movement from cartoon character using ceramics was successfully produced.
Design thinking is a contemplative longing to change the world by exploiting aesthetics, ethics, and knowledge. The designers of design cognition do not adequately clarify which abstract aspects they ponder with their physical condition as the driving force behind producing, selecting, and developing ideas. This research aims to characterise design semantic representation related to form creation. Two phases of data collection are partitioned in design protocol analysis. This model specifically designs fields for product design ideation to product form design anatomy. This developed model will psychologically impact the designers in industries and education fields. This paper was initiated based on the conceptual framework of Ablution Function Mean Analysis relating to a phenomenon that impacts designer perception in developing new product development for religious-based design. Empirical observation of user-designer exploring the convergent process of ablution design development was set up. The ablution performed, the perceptions verbalized, and the different design principles targeted were analyzed from a qualitative and a quantitative point of view. This study's data were first measured to obtain an appreciation of Muslims performing ablution behaviour. The study focused on the product gestalt, recognising the design act of divergent and convergent transpires in a real context, and identifying the spontaneous control reflection that influences the resulting product perception. Ceramic Tureen refers to the ‘serving ware' that are widely used in Malaysian community. On the other hand, the surface decoration increases aesthetic value of the ‘serving ware' especially in promoting the local contexts and meaning. However, this local context design in regard to tureen surface design is being over shadowed by European style and identity design pattern. This study is to associate the tureen with local context design of batik character by introducing batik as an idea to pattern design. Batik pattern design will be applied on the ceramic tureen ‘serving ware'. Keywords: Surface Pattern, Batik Pattern, Ceramic Tureen eISSN: 2398-4287© 2022. The Authors.
