Carbopol is an acrylic polymer. Carbopol is non-toxic and non-irritating so that it is suitable for gel preparations. Carbopol 940 is often used as a gelling agent in gel preparations. Concentration of carbopol 940 as a gelling agent needs to be concerned to obtain a good gel preparation. This study aimed to determine the effect of carbopol 940 concentration on physical properties, drug release and the use in eye drops. The research method used was descriptive method with data collection technique using PICO (Population, Intervention, Compare, Outcame) approach. Based on the Descriptive research results, it was obtained that carbopol 940 had influences on the physical properties of the gel in the form of pH, viscosity, spreadability, adhesion, organoleptic and stability. Carbopol 940 is commonly used in controlled-release drug formulations. In addition, carbopol 940 is also safe to use in eye drops preparations which do not cause irritation in in vivo testing.

Steroid and non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs have many side effects so that many anti-inflammatory developments are made from natural ingredients, especially in plants. Plants that are scientifically proven to have antiinflammatory characteristic, one of which is from Zingiberaceae family. Kencur (Kaempferiae galangal L.) is a type of herb and medicinal plant that has been widely recognized by Indonesian people. Further research needs to be conducted to determine the comparison of the effectiveness of kencur extract with sodium diclofenac as an anti-inflammation. The parameter observed in this study was inhibition of edema on the rat's foot after induced by 0.1 mL of 1% carrageenan for 390 minutes. Edema volume was measured by using a plethysmometer. A total of 15 male rats weighing 200-250 gr were divided into 5 groups, namely the negative control group who were only given a PGA of 2%, the positive control which given sodium diclofenac 20mg / Kg of weight, and the extract group dose of kencur rhizomes respectively 45, 90 and 180 mg / kg. Edema volume measurement was performed every 30 minutes to 390 minutes. Edema volume data was used to calculate the percentage of edema inhibition, then the data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and followed by LSD test to see the differences between groups. Ethanol extract of kencur with doses of 45 and 90 mg / Kg of weight at the 5th and 6th hours showed significantly different anti-inflammatory activity compared to the positive controls where the p value <0.005. This result shows that the ethanol extract of kencur can be used as an anti-inflammatory agent in male rats.

ABSTRACT Antioxidants are compounds that can inhibit reactive oxygen species and also free radicals so that antioxidants can prevent diseases associated with free radicals such as carcinogenesis, cardiovascular, and aging. The emergence of a negative response to the use of synthetic antioxidants is thought to have the potential to cause cancer. So that natural antioxidants are increasingly in demand because they are believed to be safer for health. Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) is one of the plants commonly used as spices by the people of Indonesia. Determination of antioxidant activity of lemongrass syrup was carried out by DPPH method. the results showed an IC50 value of lemongrass syrup preparations of 50.68 ppm.

Usia Lanjut usia (Lansia) akan terjadi berbagai penurunan fisik, psikologis, kognitif  dan hubungan sosial. Tujuan dari penelitian ini meningkatkan minat Lansia ke Posbindu dengan memberikan variasi aktivitas yang bermanfaat agar kualitas hidupnya lebih terjaga. Pos Pelayanan Terpadu (Posbindu) merupakan wadah beraktivitas Lansia sejumlah total sampel  68 di wilayah RW 05, dibantu oleh Kader dan di fasilitasi oleh Puskesmas. Aktivitas atau Kegiatan bermanfaat secara bersama yaitu; life review reminiscence, senam, kontrol kesehatan dan penyuluhan kesehatan mengenai cara perawatan penyakit kronis (Diabetes Mellitus dan Hipertensi). Sebelum adanya  variasi aktivitas, kunjungan Lansia berkurang  dan sesudah adanya variasi aktivitas, minatnya meningkat ke Posbindu. Dibuktikan dengan uji paired T Test P Value 0.002;  menunjukan variasi aktivitas meningkatkan minat Lansia berkunjung ke Posbindu. Peran tenaga kesehatan yaitu; Perawat memfasilitasi kader, untuk memberikan variasi  aktivitas secara kontinyu serta memberikan ilmu dan informasi kesehatan guna meningkatkan minat Lansia di RW 05 Ciganjur Jagakarsa Jakarta Selatan.

ABSTRACT Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) is one of the plants commonly used as spices by the people of Indonesia. However, the use of lemongrass as cooking spices is only located on the stem, while the lemongrass leaves are still a waste. Even though lemongrass leaves are known to contain phenol active compounds which can act as antioxidants. Lemongrass syrup formulations are made into 3 formulas, Formula I 0,75: 0,25; Formula II 0,25: 0,75; Formula III 0,5: 0,5 for sucrose: Na CMC. Formulation I with sucrose levels: Na CMC (0,75: 0,25) has the most desirable taste and for evaluation has the best value.
