The article deals with the role and essence of the enterprise profit as an object of management. The systematization of scientific views on the essence of the concept of "profit" allowed us to distinguish three approaches to its interpretation. The first approach considers profit in the political economy aspect, the second-as a financial result from the main activity of the enterprise, and the third-as a positive result from the entire set of operations of the enterprise. The own determination of profit of the enterprise which substantive filling provides the basis for formation of an effective system of its management is offered in the enterprise. The author's definition of profit examines it not only within the quantitative aspect, based on the comparison of income and expenses, but also reveals its economic content. It is proved that effective management of profit of the enterprise is possible with an effective and properly formed system of profit management of the enterprise, which was considered using a systematic approach that characterizes it in terms of target and organizationalfunctional subsystems. System approach to profit management involves the study of ways to organize subsystems as a whole and the impact of the processes of the system as a whole on its individual units. The target subsystem defines the main purpose and tasks of management. Achieving the goal will simultaneously harmonize the interests of business owners with those of the state and staff. The organizational and functional subsystem includes the entities and objects of management, as well as the functions they perform. Each element of this subsystem is characterized. Economic, organizational, administrative and social-psychological methods of management are considered. It has been determined that the profit management system is based on the principles of integration, continuity, systematicity, complexity, dynamic management and variability. The structural and logical scheme of realization of process of management of profit of the enterprise is considered. Practical implementation of all stages will help to achieve the chosen goal of the company in terms of desired profit.
