Level IV. Retrospective study.

Needle aspiration-irrigation is effective in septic arthritis of the hip, as long as basic principles are followed. Delayed treatment and certain biological criteria should be taken into account when selecting a treatment, since negative predictive criteria identified in this series were present in the five hips requiring secondary arthrotomy.

Level IV: retrospective study or historical series.

Simultaneous correction of femoral and tibial deformities by means of circular external fixators is preferable. Application of a combined osteosynthesis allows to considerably reduce the duration of external fixation and decrease the number of complications. There were no recurrent deformities in parts of bone reinforced by intramedullary nails.
