Sowohl die N‐Phenyl‐amidine (I) als auch die N‐Chlorphenyl‐amidine (III) reagieren mit SCI; in siedendem Tetrachlormethan glatt zu den Thiachinazolinen (II).

Die Reaktion der N‐Chlor‐N′‐arylamidine (I) mit SCI; liefert die thermisch labilen Benzothiadiazine (II), die sich zum Teil schon bei Raumtemp. zersetzen.
