The excess enthalpies of all possible binary mixtures of n‐heptane, isooctane (2,2,4‐trimethylpentane), ETBE (ethyl‐tert. butyl ether) and ethanol have been measured at 298.15 K and 313.15 K and atmospheric pressure using a quasi‐isothermal flow calorimeter. The experimental excess enthalpies HE and published excess heat capacities CEP and excess volumes VE are used to test the applicability of the ERAS (Extended Real Associated Solution)‐model.
Calorimetry 1 Excess Properties f Liquid Mixtures 1 ThermodynamicsMolar excess enthalpies H E have been measured for ternary mixtures of methanol + MTBE + n-heptane and for the three corresponding binary mixtures of these compounds using a quasi-isothermal flow calorimeter. The measurements have been performed at atmospheric pressure and at 298.1 and 313.1 K. The experimental results are compared with those calculated using the ERAS-(Extented Real Associated Solution) model and the NRTL-equation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
