The global pandemic due to the emergence of COVID-19 impacted the education sector causing the dramatic shift from conventional to flexible learning. To sustain learning continuity, online learning modality rises as a promising instructional response to the pandemic. This study utilized correlational research to explore the factors influencing the online learning self-efficacy of the 387 (57%) teacher education students. It also described the online learning self-efficacy, online readiness, coping strategies, and familiarity and capability of students to educational technology tools. The content-validated and researcher-made instrument which established an excellent reliability index (0.96), was administered via Google forms. Multiple regression analysis was employed to determine the significant predictors of the students' online learning self-efficacy. The results revealed that online readiness, coping strategies, and familiarity and capability significantly explain the variation in the student's self-efficacy to learn online. The administration and the teachers may consider the students' computer skills, reflect on their readiness for online learning, and understand their coping mechanisms in the digital classroom. These factors could be sourced out in developing instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of the students.
The integration of robotics in the education was one of the aspirations of the K-12 institution in the Philippines. The RoboTeach Extension Project was established to address the challenges associated with the implementation of robotics in K-12 education. This study explores the teachers' perception of the efficacy in the implementation of the project which focused on training the Department of Education (DepEd) teachers in San Pablo City Laguna, Philippines on the basic concepts and applications of robotics and automation. The topics and learning activities covered during the ten-day training were based on the self-assessment survey results on the level of knowledge of teachers. The study used a descriptive method of research using a quantitative approach and adopted the LSPU Extension Services Evaluation Survey Questionnaire to determine the respondents' perception of the level of project efficacy. The data were obtained from twenty-five DepEd teachers and analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency count, per cent, weighted mean and ANOVA. The respondents were highly satisfied with meeting expectations to attain objectives, training and workshop contents, learning activities, methodologies, instructional materials used, resource person and trainers, training management team, and training management team and training facilities and services. Further, there was no significant difference among their level of satisfaction from day 1 to 5 of the training sessions. Respondents viewed the training as very successful, as evident from the consultation and culminating activity. Thus, the sustainability on the implementation of the project was highly recommended.
This study aimed to determine the relationship of physical activity and exercise participation motives with that of the dance skills performance of students. This study utilized the descriptive-correlational research design with 40 of Cagbalete Island National High School Grade 10 students of the academic year 2021-2022 as the respondents. Participatory motives were measured using the Exercise Motivation Inventory (EMI-2) of Markland (1997). The statistical tools used were the mean statistics standard deviation in determining the participation motives of the respondents and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient in determining the relationship between the participatory motives and dance skills performance of the respondents. Results show that enjoyment is the top motive of the students to participate in physical activity and exercises. They are very good in manifesting their physical, technical and skills performance. It was concluded that there is a significant relationship between the physical activity and exercise motives in terms of enjoyment with that of the dance skills performance of the students, which implies that enjoyment plays a crucial role in their physical activity participation. To ensure enjoyment in Physical Education (PE) it is suggested that teacher consider certain enjoyment processes particularly activity-related excitement when structuring PE activities and programs.
This study determined the relations of financial literacy and decision-making skills in the financial well-being and professional qualities of select public school teachers. The study used descriptive-correlational design through a survey data gathering strategy. There were 177 teacher-respondents from fifteen schools in Candelaria East District, Division of Quezon in the Philippines. The participants on the survey conducted on April 2021 were majority 31 to 40 years old, female, married, bachelor’s degree holder, teacher 1 employment status, with salary range of P15,000 to P 24,000 from their 1 to 10 years of service. The results of the self-assessment showed that the teachers’ financial literacy and the decision-making skills were proven to be practiced. Furthermore, the financial well-being and professional qualities were also being practiced. This study recommends on the continuous education of the teachers with regards to the financial literacy. On personal level, being cautious in engaging with loans and disengagement with debt-trap are basic but powerful practices.
