Precompetitive state anxiety in judo AbstractAim: The objective of this study was to analyze the psychometric properties of the Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-2 (CSAI-2) in Spanish judokas, and calculate differences in pre-competitive state anxiety due the sport level, age and gender. We analyze these relationships using a multidimensional anxiety perspective. Method: A sample of 128 judokas from amateur to high performance level participated in our study. The intensity and directional somatic anxiety, cognitive anxiety and self confidence of the CSAI-2 were measured. Results:The results show that the questionnaire administered showed acceptable psychometric properties, and there are differences in directional somatic and cognitive anxiety for age, and in intensity self confidence for sport level. The implications of these findings for the process of training and competition are discussed in the document. Keywords: Pre competitive anxiety, self confidence, judo. The objective of this study was to examine the factorial validity and reliability of the Learning and Performance Orientations in Physical Education Classes Questionnaire (LAPOPECQ) with adolescent Spanish physical education students. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were utilized to address this question. Results of the exploratory factor analysis revealed the presence of five factors and was consistent with previous research. Confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the Spanish version of the LAPOPECQ had fit indices that were similar to the original Greek and English versions of the instruments and that a five-factor correlated model was more parsimonious than a hierarchical model. The implications of these findings on future research are discussed.Key words: achievement goals; motivational climate; factorial validity; internal consistency.
The main goal of this study is to validate Vallerand's hierarchical model (2001) to predict the causes of discipline through motivational climate and self-determined motivation, within a sample of 819 physical education teenage students. Learning and Performance Orientations in Physical Education (LAPOPEQ), the Sport Motivation Scale (SMS) and the Psychological Mediator Scale were the instruments used for this study. After several regression analyses, task climate proves most useful to predict cause motivation (intrinsic, introjected and identified) for discipline. These results encourage further experiment emphasising motivational climate associated to tasks.
