Pectin from Arabica Gayo coffee pulp has been successfully isolated using citric acid as a solvent. The pectin extracted from the coffee pulp is determined by the extraction conditions. This study aims to produce pectin from dried coffee extract using citric acid using two factors, namely the difference factor of citric acid (1: 5 and 1: 20 b/v) and extraction time 75 and 150 minutes. The optimum ratio of Arabica Gayo coffee pulp with citric acid was 1:20 b/v with rendemen 7,8 % with 125 minute extraction time and at the temperature of 80 °C and pH 4. The methoxyl content of isolated pectin was 12.71 % and has been determined as high methoxyl pectin (HMP). The result of analysis with FTIR is known that the extract produced is pectin with comparison with pectin standard. The pectin has been used as a matrix membrane and showed its smooth surface gel form and smaller diameter from scanning electron microscopy (SEM).1
Simeulue waters is an island directly on Indian Ocean border. These waters are a yellowfin tuna migration area and a target area for tuna fishermen of the South West coast of Aceh. Increased fishing can decrease the production. This research aimed to integrate the sustainable use of yellowfin tuna. The direct observation method refers to the sustainability status based on fishing technology. The findings of this study indicate the value of the sustainability status of the fishing technology aspect is 80.63. This value included in the good sustainable category. Furthermore, there are eight attributes used by researcher, namely fishing gear mobility, fishing gear strength, post-fishing handling, fish landed before being marketed, fishing gear selectivity, destructive fishing gear usage, machine capacity used by fishermen, equipment technology used by fishermen.
Pergeseran kualitas habitat, pencemaran dan masuknya beberapa spesies asing menyebabkan perubahan lingkungan ekologis perairan sungai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sistem kearifan lokal menuju SDGs’14, studi kasus kearifan lokal lubuk larangan tepian napal Sungai Batang Tebo Kabupaten Bungo Provinsi Jambi. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Bulan Juli-Agustus 2019 dengan metode survei. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik flag modelling Ecosystem Approach Fisheries Management (EAFM) yang dimodifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kearifan lokal lubuk larangan tepian napal sudah mengarah ke SDGs’14 dengan kategori baik (light green flag). Sistem partisipatif, adat-istiadat dan kekeluargaan menjadi ciri khas kearifan lokal lubuk larangan dalam menjaga sumberdaya perikanan di Kabupaten Bungo Provinsi Jambi. Simeulue Regency is surrounded by small islands rich in diverse fish resources, namely dogtooth tuna. The interaction (reciprocity) between groups of organisms and their environment plays an important role in ecological systems. The determination of ecological status can be used to monitor, manage, and sustain waters in tuna fishing areas. Fishing activities will affect environmental changes that will impact marine biota's sustainability, existence, and diversity. This study aimed to analyze the ecological sustainability status of tuna fishing areas in East Simeulue waters. The research was conducted in May-July 2021. The method used in this research was observing and measuring the characteristics of the aquatic environment and conducting interviews. The attributes seen include the condition of the aquatic environment, conservation of pelagic resources, fishing activities, utilization of pelagic resources, environmental carrying capacity, type of fishing gear, the volume of fishing gear, level of suitability for fishing. The sustainability status of the ecological dimension obtained a value of 79.74. The results obtained are classified as well sustainable.
The issue of this study is that many students of Sports Science Faculty do not maximized their capability of physical condition. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of circuit training methods on improving physical conditions. This quasi-experimental research involved 9 students. The data were collected through 50 meter run test, sip up test, push up test and multi stage test. Data were analyzed using different test formula (t test) dependent samples. Based on the measurement and analysis, it was obtained that tcount= 3.03 while ttable= 1.860 at α 0.05 and df = n-1. Thus, it can be concluded that the circuit training method has a significant effect on improving the ability of physical conditions. The circuit training is recommended to be used to improve physical condition.
