Students’ active learning activities are one indicator of success in a learning process. In fact, students tend to listen to teacher explanations which hamper students learning activities. This point make students not free to develop their potential, so the most students are not interested in mathematics learning. Therefore, there needs to be an effort in this problem, namely by using the steps in the learning model. This study aims to determine the application of MASTER based on mind mapping in increasing the learning activities of students at SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP. This research used non-test techniques in the form of observation sheets and field notes. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the learning activities of implementation of the MASTER based on mind mapping experienced an increase in the A4 indicator and experienced fluctuations in indicators A1, A2, A3, A5, and A6. Even so, the overall average of this research succeeded in reaching 87.5% in the very good category. It means that the implementation of a mind mapping-based learning model shows an active learning activity.
This study aims to evaluate certain tubers of new sweet potato clones for their morphological characters of and yield under low input conditions in the middle highland. This study was conducted at Saree, Aceh Besar, the Province of Aceh (485 m ASL) from February to July 2015. The study used a Completely Randomized Block Design of non-factorial with 12 sweet potato clones consisting of nine clones passed by CIP-SEA Bogor, Indonesia (CIP-LSQ, CIP-1945, CIP-MAN, CIP-513, CIP-BDG, CIP-WHI-5, CIP-W86P, CIP-B9, and CIP-204), one national variety (Antin-1), and two local clones (Orange Saree and Purple Saree). The results showed that there were differences in the characters of 12 sweet potato clones in terms of their tuber shapes, skins and flesh colors. Sweet potato tuber shape being studied consisted of an oval, round and long. Tuber flesh color generally was white, cream, yellow, orange and purple. Meanwhile, CIP-1945, CIP-W86P, Local Orange Saree clones, and Antin-1 variety have orange tuber flesh. CIP-WHI5 clone has the highest number of tubers, while CIP-204 clone has the largest diameter and length of tubers, and the highest in tuber yield.
Rice morpho-agronomic traits determine the yield at different planting seasons due to the characters that are closely related to genetic characteristics and environmental factors. This study aims to observe morpho –agronomic traits of three varieties, namely Situ Patenggang (as the check variety that can be planted in rice fields and upland rainfed), Sipulo and Sanbei (both as the test varieties). The varieties planted in upland rainfed in order to observe the morpho-agronomic traits occur, as the rice planted in rainfed might be able to be planted elsewhere, due to its water stress tolerance. The result showed that the check variety have morpho-agronomic traits that show a balanced sink and source, while the two test varieties, Sipulo and Sanbei have a larger but imbalance source and sink capacity. The imbalance of source and sink was caused by the large amount of the last panicles that appeared from tertiary or quaternary tiller, in which increased the percentage of unfilled grains that later caused a low percentage of filled grain. However, the potential yield remains high compared to the check variety. Therefore, from the observation, it is clear that the morpho-agronomic traits of rice can be determinants in determining rice yield.
Abstract. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menentukan model indeks pembangunanmanusia di kabupaten/kota Provinsi Sumatera Barat menggunakan regresi spasial, meng-analisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Analisis yang digunakan yaitu SpatialError Model (SEM). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa peubah bebas yang mempen-garuhinya adalah persentase dengan jamban sendiri, persentase kemiskinan dan angkaharapan sekolah dengan nilai koesien determinasi adalah 95,84.
