This article considers the interaction of ethics and aesthetics in A. Burgess's worldview. It is based on an analysis of the novels about the minor poet Enderby, who is interpreted as the writer's alter ego.
The article focuses on the means of realization of the evaluative component of the syntactic evaluative constructions at the text level. The analysis of the two short stories by W.S. Maugham shows that there are two ways of evaluative component actualization in the discourse. The first level is represented by direct and indirect appraisals towards the characters and the events of the story given by the author explicitly (through the narrator's speech) or implicitly (through the author's indirect evaluations) while the second one is the interaction of the two narrative methods made by the author and the narrator which leads to the unification of the two defined parties and the following integration of its evaluative component into the title itself.
Purpose of the study: Anthony Burgess (1917 – 1993) is an English writer, author of the intellectual novels and serious musical works. Being a talented and inventive person, he was very interested in art and its creative processes. Anthony Burgess’s artistic creativity concept can be traced in many of his works about fictional and non-fictional writers Methodology: The article uses the analysis of the fictional world created in the novels as a means of its consideration. The image of the artist is considered from the perspective of the writer's worldview reflected in the composition and the message of his works. Results: The conducted analysis shows that in Anthony Burgess’s opinion the artist is a craftsman whose artistic activity is closely connected with his sexual attraction. In addition, the writer is characterized by isolation as the main condition of the creative process and the total devotion to Art. Applications of this study: This research can be used for the universities, teachers, and students. Novelty/Originality of this study: Thus, the novelty of the paper consists in its first trial to present the artist’s image thoroughly studied in the mentioned above novels. It is worthwhile mentioning that the research is conducted according to Anthony Burgess’s creative concept.

Исследование показало, что, принимая во внимание или отрицая общепринятые версии о жизни и смерти драматурга, писатель создает свой портрет талантливого елизаветинца, который соответствует авторской концепции творчества, где ключевыми становятся понятия деромантизации и гиперсексуальности образа творца. В работе также акцентируется внимание на религиозном поиске героя, во многом схожем с исканиями самого автора романа, и выявляется принципиальное отличие образа Марло Э. Бёрджесса от традиционного для литературоведения восприятия личности драматурга. Писатель отрицает атеизм К. Марло и представляет своего героя настоящим католиком, отягощенным чувством вины.
Good number of researchers have demonstrated the need for online training for faculty members in various countries around the world in recent years. However, most of these academic researchers have discussed the different effects of the online training system. The study deals with the genre structure and formation of a special type of the political text which is an election address of a political leader to the electorate. The article considers the history of the appearance of the public speech genre in Russian political discourse, its functions and linguistic features that solve the problem of revealing the main ideological content at the lexical level. The paper also focuses on the techniques used in this authorial text. They are examined from the perspective of identifying manipulative strategies and tactics of influencing the emotional, rational, and moral-ethical spheres of the electorate, and their implementation at the language level. The research material was the texts of Gennady Zyuganov’s election addresses in 2000 and 2019 taken from the Internet sources, as well as the accompanying comments estimated to be about 50 sources. To increase the degree of objectivity of the results obtained, machine text processing (SEO-type text processing programs, vaal.ru, wordstat.yandex and others) was also used. In the course of the study the linguistic characteristics of the implementations of the political address functions (influence, inspiration, advocacy and propaganda, informing), typical of this type of political statements, are revealed along with the established dynamics of changes in rhetoric by Gennady Zyuganov as the leader of a political party (the Communist Party) and its leading representative.
