One of the most important factors in the intensification of greenhouse tomato production is the introduction of new high-yielding hybrids which are adapted to new technologies and unfavorable climatic conditions. The present investigation was carried out in the Korkyt Аta Kyzylorda State University greenhouse between 2010 and 2015, to study the performance of different tomato hybrids in terms of growth, yield and quality inside the greenhouse in the PreAral area conditions in Kazakhstan. Seventeen tomato hybrids selected from the Netherlands, Israel and Russia were grown on a substrate of sawdust in the conditions of the extended culture. Based on the results obtained, the most productive hybrids and those best adapted to the climatic conditions of the area are identified and the fruits' quality assessment and cost-effectiveness analysis are given. The best yield and fruit quality results were obtained from hybrids from the Dutch selection. The best variety for all indicators -productivity, yield of standard products, fruit taste and largest profit -was the Panekra hybrid. Lilos F1, Maxitos F1, Gravitet F1, Klepton F1, Esmira F1 and Clarabella F1 hybrids also had high productivity, good fruit quality and relatively high profit. These hybrids are recommended for greenhouse soilless culture in PreAral area conditions.
Currently, low-volume hydroponics is the most intensive system for vegetable plant cultivation in a greenhouse, the effective use of which largely depends on the selection of a substrate. The wide variety of substrates used for this technology suggests that when cultivating tomatoes in different regions, substrates from local raw materials can be used, making it possible to preserve all the positive properties of low-volume hydroponics and to get a high yield of tomatoes. This paper presents the results of a study on cultivating Lilos F1 tomatoes hybrid using substrates of peat (control option) and sawdust (SD) and rice husk (RH) in various ratios (SD 100%; RH 100%; SD: RH 50:50; SD: RH 75:25 and SD: RH 25:75). It was found that the highest tomato yield was received when growing tomatoes using a peat substrate (25.54 kg/m2) and in ratios SD: RH 75:25 and SD: RH 50:50 (27.70 and 24.57 kg/m2). The calcu-lation of the economical efficiency of tomato cultivation showed that the level of production profitability was deter-mined not so much by the yield as by the cost of the substrate, therefore the most effective was the use of composite substrates SD: RH 75:25 and SD: RH 50:50, which ensured the production profitability of 14.7% and 14.0%. The obtained results confirmed the expediency of using substrates from sawdust and rice husk to increase the efficiency of low-volume cultivation of tomatoes in regional conditions. It has been established that the use of substrates based on sawdust and rice husk for low-volume cultivation allows preserving all the positive properties of the technology and to get a rich yield of high-quality tomato fruits. The cost-effectiveness analysis of low-volume tomato cultivation using various substrates showed that the level of production profitability was influenced not so much by the yield as by the cost of the substrate. Since the region lacks natural reserves of organic substrates, when peat is used as a substrate, it has to be purchased from the CIS countries, which significantly affects the cost of production. The use of waste products from processing industries such as sawdust and rice husk as substrates, on the contrary, allows you to reduce this cost item in the cost of production and thereby increase the production profitability. This scientific work is a continuation of the research on the effectiveness of the use of soilless technology for growing tomatoes in the PreAral Sea region, conducted on the basis of the greenhouse of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University. In previous studies, the technological parameters of culture management were separately studied and their optimal values for regional conditions were established, some of which differed from the parameters in the previously used technology proposed by OLDS College (Canada). Based on the results obtained, an improved technology of soilless growth the tomato was developed, the study of the effectiveness of which was the purpose of these studies. The studies were carried out on hybrid tomatoes Lilos F1 (RZ Netherlands), which was grown on a composite substrate of sawdust and rice husk in conditions of extended turnover. The research results showed that the use of improved technology of groundless tomato cultivation contributed to the creation of the most favorable conditions for the growth and development of tomato hybrid plants, increased productivity and product quality. The period before flowering was reduced by 4 days, and before fruiting-by 6 days, the first flower cluster was laid earlier (by 1 leaf), and the first three clusters formed a larger number of fruits (by 1.6). The early yield of tomatoes increased by 2.12 kg/m 2 , and the total-by 3.74 kg/m 2 . Due to the formation of larger fruits, the average weight of which was higher by 14.7 g, the yield of standard products increased by 2.4%. The qualitative characteristics of tomato fruits did not show significant differences, and their taste qualities remained at a high level.
