Research has been conducted to determine the concentration of Lead (Pb) and Cadmium (Cd) heavy metals in water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) in the Indragiri River Waters of Indragiri Hilir Regency in May-July 2016. Determination of the research station was carried out by purposive random sampling by considering environmental conditions based on community activities around the river and the existence of Eichhornia crassipes. The main parameters in this study include the concentration of heavy metals Pb and Cd in river water, sediments and Eichhornia crassipes, and physico-chemical parameters as supporting parameters. The results showed that the average concentration of Pb heavy metals in river water was 0.276 ppm and Cd was 0.126 ppm. The average concentration of heavy metals Pb in sediments was 4.61 ppm and Cd of 0.75 ppm. The accumulation of Pb and Cd Eichhornia crassipest heavy metals is included in the low category, namely the average concentration of Pb heavy metals in the root organ is 3.02 ppm, on the leaf stalk 2.61 ppm, and on the leaves 2.09 ppm. The concentration of heavy metal Cd at the root was 0.47 ppm, at the leaf stalk 0.39 ppm, and at the leaves 0.362 ppm
The purpose of this exploratory study is to determine the development of curriculum Environmental Sciences which applies scientific lecture materials that are integrated in the environment, application of environmental knowledge, and character development curriculum on motivation. This study involved 45 students who were selected randomly. Data from samples were obtained by using a questionnaire. Validity and reliability of the survey instrument was conducted by performing a pilot study involving 30 students. The findings of the pilot study as a whole shows that each aspect has high reliability with Cronbach alpha values between 0.77 to 0.823. The findings of the study were analyzed using SPSS software 19.0. The analysis of the results showed that the development of curriculum Environmental Sciences which applies scientific lecture materials that are integrated in the environment is at a good level of motivation; the implementation of environmental knowledge is at the average or moderate level of motivation; and character development curriculum is at the high level of motivation. These findings provide information to various stakeholders to develop environment in order to engage students in a campaign or expansion activities in the environmental awareness among the public.
The aims to determine the effect of chitosan concentration and smoking time on the quality of smoked catfish (Pangasius sp.) and produce Student Worksheet design. This research was divided into two step, there is experimental step and the Student Worksheet design. At the experimental step, used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Factor I is the concentration of chitosan, and factor II is duration of smoking time. This study consisted of 12 treatments with 3 replications so that there were 36 experimental units. Parameters observed were protein content, fat content, water content and organoleptic on appearance, scent, taste and texture. The results showed that the effect of chitosan concentration and smoking time had an effect on treated with 3% chitosan and 3 days of smoking showed the best results, with the total protein content was 35.89%, fat content was 29.72% and water content was 15.27%. Meanwhile, the organoleptic test results of smoked catfish on the aspects of appearance, scent, taste and texture, the best treatment was also found in smoked catfish with 3% chitosan treatment and 3 days of smoking time. The results can be used as a student worksheet design on Food Additives material for class XI high school.
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused learning to be carried out online. Based on observations, it appears that students find it difficult to understand the concept of material when learning online. One of the efforts that can be done by lecturers is to design an interactive learning media that suits the needs of students. This study aims to analyze student needs for the development of interactive learning media based on Articulate Storyline. This research is a qualitative descriptive study, research subjects consist of 78 students of Biology Education, University of Riau. The data collection technique was done by triangulation. Data were obtained based on questionnaires, interviews and observations. Data were analyzed through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results showed that 93% of students said the obstacles to online learning were networks and quotas, 94% of students said the material provided was difficult to understand, 84% of students said online learning had not been effective because of disjointed material explanations, 81% of students said the material provided was given that it is not interactive, 91% of students say that interactive learning media can help understanding the material, 90% of students say that the solution in optimizing online learning is to provide interactive media-based materials. It can be concluded that it is necessary to develop interactive learning media based on Articulate Storyline when online learning is seen from the needs of students to optimize online learning.
