According to the WHO, health is not merely the absence of disease or infirmity, but a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. Recreational sports activities particularly for urban communities could be used as a life style, because it may considered balance individual condition between physical, spiritual and social needs. This study aims to describe and investigate: 1) the reason why recreational sports become urban society choice as weekend activities and holiday activities, 2) the type of recreational sport activities done by urban communities, 3) the value of individual's physical and psychosocial aspects,4) potential space for individual who do recreational sport activities. This research used ethnographic study with empirical and theoretical approaches. We conclude that the recreational sport activities as an option activity for the urban community, and is quite representative to facilitate the needs of sport cultures, and a sense of concern for the environment which useful in maintaining health.
Semowo adalah sebuah desa di Kecamatan Pabelan Kabupaten Semarang Jawa Tengah Indonesia. Sebuah desa yang kurang lebih berjarak 37KM dari pusat kota Kab.Semarang. Desa ini masuk ke dalam daftar 10 desa waspada stunting. Saat ini pemerintah memfokuskan perhatian pada kasus besar stunting. Berdasarkan data dari Dinas Kesehatan pada 2020, jumlah anak penderita stunting di Kabupaten Semarang sebanyak 3.817 orang anak atau 5,31 persen dari total jumlah populasi anak. Sedangkan berdasarkan pencatatan dan pelaporan gizi berbasis masyarakat (PPGBM), prevalensi balita stunting mencapai 12,58 persen atau dibawah angka Provinsi Jawa Tengah sebesar 14,51 persen. Sehingga perlu sebuah aktivitas fisik untuk percepatan penurun angka stunting di Desa Semowo. Sasaran dari kegiatan ini adalah semua anak yang menderita stunting atau semua anak usia sekolah dasar usia 6-12. Aktivitas fisik yang dilakukan yaitu senam sehat dan mini outbound. Kegiatan ini berdampak positif tidak hanya pada kesehatan anak stunting itu sendiri tetapi juga dapat mempercepat penurunan angka stunting di Desa Semowo. Sehingga dapat dikatakan secara umum terjadi peningkatan kesejahteraan kesehatan masyarakat di Desa Semowo, Kec. Pabelan, Kab. Semarang.
The background of problem is that recreational sports activities on weekends and holidays have become a lifestyle trend for urban communities. These recreational sports activities are considered to be capable of contributing to the fulfillment of health need and values of physical, mental, and social aspects. The substance focus of the problem is to identification of the impacts of recreational sports activities on weekends and holidays for urban communities in Semarang. Research methods were done through survey and observation. Data collection techniques were carried out through interview, direct observation, and documentation. Instrument of research optimizes uman instrument actively participating in gathering data and information from informants. Research targets: 1) Forms of community recreational sports: walking, jogging, cycling, aerobics, and elderly gymnastics; 2) Manifestation of the impacts of community recreations sports activities on health, from physical, mental, and social values, 3) Prospects for the actors, stakeholders, FORMI (Federation of Indonesian Community-Recreational Sports), and sports institutions regarding the government policy regulation on RTH and RTO. Contributions of the research findings are mapping of the forms of activity or community, mapping of RTH and RTO policies, mapping of the manifestation of physical, mental, and social aspects values.
