Carocok beach tourism destination is one of the integrated tourism development areas in Pesisir Selatan district, West Sumatra province which already has a Master Plan. The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of infrastructure development on the development of tourism and the environment in the Carocok beach tourism area. This study is a causal method survey research involving 180 respondents, stakeholders of the Carocok beach tourism area including the Government, private parties, non-governmental organizations, tourists, and local residents. The sample selection is done in a convenient purposive sampling manner. Data analysis used path analysis which was preceded by test data requirements: normality, multicollinearity, autocorrelation, and heteroscedasticity. The research error rate was set at 5%. The results of the study show that infrastructure development has a significant direct effect on the development of tourism and the environment. Tourism development also has a significant direct effect on the environment.
The research objective was to find out the views of the local community on the infrastructure of the Carocok tourist area, Painan, West Sumatra. The study involved 150 respondents who were asked to answer a questionnaire containing 22 statements. Data analysis uses Important Performance Analysis (IPA). The level of research error is set at 5%. The results of the analysis revealed that overall the infrastructure of the Carocok tourist area, Painan, West Sumatra had fulfilled expectations, as evidenced by the different perceptions and expectations using the Wicoxon Rank Test which produced Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) is 0.558 which is greater than 5%. Nevertheless, out of 22 infrastructure attributes, there are 12 attributes that have not met expectations. Of the 12 attributes that have not met these expectations based on IPA analysis there are three attributes that need to be improved, namely: clean water facilities, various festivals, and various types of arts.
Independent integrated city is a city that was built with the aim of increasing the ease of meeting various basic needs that enable the opening of opportunities for socioeconomic growth of transmigrate regions and creating centers of business activities that attract investors as an effort to develop the economic activities of transmigrates and surrounding communities. The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of the independent variables of infrastructure development and ecological carrying capacity on the dependent variable of the Economic Impact of the Independent Integrated City of Lunang Silaut. This research is a quantitative research involving 150 respondents of the Independent Integrated City Regional stakeholders Lunang Silaut who represent the Government, private parties, nongovernmental organizations, and local residents. The sample selection is done in a convenient purposive sampling manner. Data analysis uses multiple regression which is preceded by data requirements test: normality, multicollinearity, autocorrelation, and heteroscedasticity. The research error rate was set at 5%. The results showed that infrastructure development and ecological carrying capacity had a significant effect on the economic impact of Independent Integrated City Lunang Silaut, with a Sig. F = 0.000; and the two independent variables can explain the dependent variable of 98.8%, while the rest is determined by other factors outside the research boundary.
The purpose of the study was to determine whether the performance of LunangSilaut as an integrated independent city was in line with the expectations of the local population. The study involved 200 respondents who were asked to answer a questionnaire containing 28 statements. Of the 200 questionnaires that were distributed, three of them were not filled correctly so that valid questionnaires to be analyzed were 197. Data analysis using IPA. The level of research error is set at 5%. The results of the analysis revealed that overall the performance of LunangSilaut as an integrated independent city had fulfilled expectations, as evidenced by the very small difference in perception and expectations of -0.00036 with Sig (2-tailed) of 0.983 which was greater than 5%. Nevertheless, out of 28 performance attributes, there are 12 attributes that have not met expectations. Of the 12 attributes that have not met these expectations based on IPA analysis there are seven attributes that need to be improved, namely the main market, funeral, public libraries, vocational training centers, auction buildings, warehouses, and supermarkets.
