This research is aimed at describing educational character values in the seloko wedding custom in Desa Niaso Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. There are 13 aspects of educational character values, they are: honesty, bravery, trusteeship, fair, wisdom, responsibility, discipline, autonomous, respectful, affection, beauty, tolerance, and love to country. This research is qualitative and is analyzed descriptively. The technique of collecting the data is by using observation, interview, and documentation. Based on the result of the analysis, it can be found that there are 8 aspects of educational character values in the seloko wedding custom in Desa Niaso Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Those 8 aspects consist of honesty, bravery, responsibility, respectful, affection, beauty, and tolerance. Based on the result of the research, it is suggested to the region government that those educational character values in the seloko wedding custom must be maintained as one of the lessons of life in society.Key Words: Analysis, educational character values, seloko.
The purpose of this study is to describe the ethical value of the help of the Hepi character in Son Rantau novel by A. Fuadi. This research includes descriptive research type which is qualitative. Primary data in this research is in the form of written data in the form of sentences, words, and paragraphs in the form of dialogs and monologues contained in Hepi characters in novels Anak Rantau A. Fuadi, while secondary data in this study in the form of books and literature taken from the library where the theories relate to this research. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the value of the helpful ethics contained in the novel Rantau Son of A. Fuadi there are 24 quotations are all reinforced also by exposure to dialogue and monologue. This illustrates this novel put forward that people live in society is needed each other to help each other in order to create prosperity help-help is necessary in living life because human life must be socialized and interdependent with each other Keywords: Value, ethics, novel
The purpose of this research is to describe the analysis result of educational character in affection values which are found in the novel Padang Bulan Karya Andrea Hirata. Pthis research is qualitative descriptive. The primary data is taken from the quotes that has affection values in educational character. This research is aimed at describing the use of semiotic in Ketika Jarum Jam Leleh dan Lelah Berdetak anthology by Dimas Arika Mihardja. This research identifies the signs of meaning and interpretations towards hermeneutics approach. This research is descriptive qualitative. The population of the research is the verses in Ketika Jarum Jam Leleh dan Lelah Berdetak anthology by Dimas Arika Mihardja. In collecting the data, purposive sampling is used. The primary data is taken from verbal data in a form of words in Ketika Jarum Jam Leleh dan Lelah Berdetak anthology by Dimas Arika Mihardja, while secondary data is taken from semiotic theory and some literary books. Based on the result and discussion, it can be concluded that there are signs in Ketika Jarum Jam Leleh dan Lelah Berdetak by Dimas Arika Mihardja, they are Penikmat kehidupan anthology, they are; human being who lives in this world. Human being who are full of story, human being who wants to live happily by having the freedom whithout thinking about the consequences are ended up being despicable. This research is aimed at describing the values of educational character of Nadine Adella Ulani character in the novel Alone by Chelsea Karina. This research is qualitative descriptive. The data were taken from the quotations which are related to the aspects of educational character values of the Nadine Adella Ulani character. In analyzing the data, structural approach technique was used. Based on the analysis of the data, it can be found that there are 10 quotations of educational character values of the Nadine Adella Ulani character in the novel Alone by Chelsea Karina. Those 10 aspects included: 8 quotations of honesty value; 12 quotations of bravery value; 2 quotations of trusteeship value; 3 quotations of wisdom value; 3 quotations of responsibility value; 10 quotations of self-reliance; 3 quotations of shame value; 11 quotations of affection value; 3 quotations of beauty value; and 5 quotations of tolerance value. There are 60 quotations which represent those 10 values. The most dominant value occurred in the novel is bravery value, while the least is trusteeship value.
