WORKSHOP OF PRODUCTION OF JAVANESE LETTER LEARNING MEDIA FOR JAVANESE TEACHER OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN REMBANG REGENCY. From the result of observation, it identified some Javanese Language teachers weakness in learning management of SMA/SMK/MA students in Rembang Regency, for example, the teachers still had a difficulty in developing learning media of Javanese letter. One of efforts to solve the problem was by giving the accompaniment in the form of training on how to produce Javanese letter learning media for the Javanese Language teachers of SMA in Rembang Regency. It is expected that the teachers have additional knowledge on Javanese letter learning media. The result of study showed that members of the activity had knowledge and skill of identification, production, and implementation of Javanese letter learning media. Based on the observation and evaluation of devotion team, it can be concluded that 1) the devotion activity was held according to the plan and can give the broader insight towards the members about Javanese letter learning media, 2) the devotion member enthusiasm in participating the activity was very high, 3) the activity members had the knowledge and skill in implementing Javanese letter media in learning process.
Batik art in each region has its own characteristics that represent the culture of the community. Lasem Batik is one of the kind of coastal batik, which has a great influence on Chinese culture, thus making Lasem batik has its own distinctive characteristics compared to other areas. In the world of Lasem batik, there is a lexicon that reflects the batik's local wisdom. The lexicon that appears in this batik activity has an element of language that is very interesting. This research discusses the local wisdom of the batik community in Lasem which is reflected through the lexicon of written batik in Lasem. The purpose of the research are to describe the reflection of the local wisdom created by the batik makers in Lasem, including the lexicon of tools and materials, Lasem batik motifs, and batik process and coloring. The data collection techniques are done through the participatory observation, in-depth interview with the interview guidelines, and literature review. The qualitative data analysis was used by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusion/verification. Data was then analyzed using the ethnoscience methods to find the local wisdom meaning. The results showed that the reflections of local wisdom in the lexicon of Lasem written batik as a reflection of the local community are (1) it reflects the ability of the people in Lasem to acculturate with other cultures, (2) it reflects the ability of the people in Lasem to adapt with the ecological nature, (3) it reflects the creativity of the people in Lasem, and (4) it reflects the ability of the people to follow the development of technology.
Javanese people have diverse thought about women. One of them is the Javanese concept of the women's role which represented through the use of metaphors. This metaphor in Javanese society is an expression of Javanese society in realizing its imagination through language media. This paper aimed to find out the role of Javanese women as reflected in Javanese language metaphors. This research was a qualitative research using the conceptual metaphor theory from Lakoff and Johnson. The result showed that there was a reflection of the role of women in Javanese metaphors which presented the role of women as mothers, wives, children, and women themselves.
Ludruk is one of the traditional arts in East Java. In ludruk, there is a unique song (kidungan), and it is accompanied by the Jula-juli song. This song is in the form of parikan. Social, political, economic, and cultural issues are portrayed in ludruk through satire, criticism, humor, and more human touch. Parikan in ludruk as Javanese Literature has a social purpose because it reflects how a person thinks in the face of various problems in life which happen in the society. So, how are cultural elements reflected in the Eastern Javanese art of parikan? This research applied the descriptive method to seek explanations about the reflection of the society's cultural elements in Eastern Javanese ludruk. The approach used was the ethnolinguistic approach and the data was analyzed with the ethnoscience framework. The results of this research show that ParikanLudruk is a free form of literature which has a social function as a reflection of the cultural elements of the society who created it.
Like other societies, women are important figures in Javanese society so that women's figures in Javanese society's thoughts are also described in such a way. There is a desire in the collective imagination of the Javanese community towards women, so that the Javanese people's thoughts about women are very diverse. One of them is the Javanese thought about the physical beauty of women which is idealized through the use of metaphors. This metaphor in Javanese society is an expression of Javanese society to express ideas and dreams through language. This paper aims to find out the metaphorical conceptualization of the physical beauty of women in Javanese. This study uses qualitative methods and conceptual metaphor theory according to Lakoff and Johnson (1980). The results of data analysis show that there is a relationship between the Javanese people and their natural environment in the form of physical and cultural.
