WORKSHOP OF PRODUCTION OF JAVANESE LETTER LEARNING MEDIA FOR JAVANESE TEACHER OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN REMBANG REGENCY. From the result of observation, it identified some Javanese Language teachers weakness in learning management of SMA/SMK/MA students in Rembang Regency, for example, the teachers still had a difficulty in developing learning media of Javanese letter. One of efforts to solve the problem was by giving the accompaniment in the form of training on how to produce Javanese letter learning media for the Javanese Language teachers of SMA in Rembang Regency. It is expected that the teachers have additional knowledge on Javanese letter learning media. The result of study showed that members of the activity had knowledge and skill of identification, production, and implementation of Javanese letter learning media. Based on the observation and evaluation of devotion team, it can be concluded that 1) the devotion activity was held according to the plan and can give the broader insight towards the members about Javanese letter learning media, 2) the devotion member enthusiasm in participating the activity was very high, 3) the activity members had the knowledge and skill in implementing Javanese letter media in learning process.
Written in the form of tembang macapat, the Wulang Putri text features life advices for women living inside the environment of Javanese keraton (royal palace) during the 19th century. During the period, women in Java struggled to maintain their existence in facing pressures and marginalization from the community. The study aimed to elaborate the concept of happiness in Javanese women as portrayed in Serat Wulang Putri texts, compilation of passages written by a Javanese women in about one century ago. Employing macro-literature approach, the study relied on genetic structuralism analysis to put emphasis on the intrinsic features, the author's social background, as well as the socio-historical reality during which the texts were written. The results show that the Wulang Putri text featured notions emphasizing ideal characteristics of a Javanese woman in responding to the social situation that disrespects women's rights. Composed by the King or his/her relatives, the texts placed women as the commodity of power; moreover, in the text written by a woman named Nyi Adisara, women's happiness was described in four characteristics: 1) gunawan (intelligence), 2) wiryawan (nobility), 3) hartawan (wealth), and 4) berawan (fertility).
The purpose of this study is to present the chronicle of literature as a media of the power's hegemony of the King of Java. The King as a super figure has extraordinary strengths and qualities. His extraordinary strengths and special qualities have made him worthy to lead the Java Island. This study is a qualitative descriptive research to describe the results of research on The Chronicle of Sultan Agung. The results of the study show that as an Islamic King of Java, his power is legitimized through the text of the chronicle literature. Sultan Agung is narrated as the most benevolent King who is able to conquer many countries without going through war. Charisma and supernatural power proclaimed by the retainer and his subordinates made him respected by officials and kings. At the time of conquering the Cirebon area, by coming to the main city during full moon night while watching puppet shows, the fragrant scent and the flying chair is a form of power hegemony over other countries. Sultan Agung is also able to rule the supernatural creatures. Nyi Roro Kidul is portrayed as a beautiful woman who is fond of Sultan Agung and at the same time also wants to be a wife who devotes herself. The strong feeling and hunch are inherent in Sultan Agung. It is proved by the hunch he got that the British and Dutch troops will arrive in the Land of Java Island. He is also able to go to Mecca in just an instant for Friday prayers in Mecca.
Perempuan menjadi objek yang paling sering dijadikan sebagai tokoh utama dalam karya sastra, salah satunya adalah novel. Hal ini dilandasi oleh kepribadian perempuan yang sangat variatif dan berbeda dari laki-laki. Kepribadian perempuan terlihat dari citra yang ditampilkan dalam cerita. Oleh karena itu, peneliti melakukan analisis novel “Si Anak Pemberani” karya Tere Liye untuk mengetahui citra perempuan di dalam novel tersebut. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif yang bersifat kualitatif. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kritik sastra feminisme. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah novel “Si Anak Pemberani” karya Tere Liye. Data penelitian yang digunakan adalah kutipan/paragraf yang menggambarkan citra perempuan dalam novel tersebut. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik baca dan catat. Selanjutnya teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, analisis data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Terdapat 15 data yang menunjukkan citra perempuan dalam novel “Si Anak Pemberani” karya Tere Liye. Citra perempuan tersebut dikategorikan menjadi tiga, yaitu citra perempuan dalam hubungannya dengan Tuhan, manusia, dan diri sendiri. Eliana sebagai tokoh utama memiliki citra perempuan bertaqwa kepada Tuhan, suka menolong, peduli lingkungan, tegas, pemberani, amanah, jujur, teladan, bertanggung jawab, pintar, dan sukses. Melalui citra perempuan yang ditampilkan, Tere Liye hendak menyampaikan bahwa perempuan adalah sosok yang kuat, cerdas, dan sukses sehingga bisa mendapatkan kesetaraan hidup yang sama dengan kaum laki-laki.
Character education is the main basis for complete human development. For the Indonesian people, character education is a manifestation of the nation's conscience that must be understood through the existence of daily life experiences. In the repertoire of Javanese literature there is a genre of piwulang literature that was born because of the practical need for character education in the Javanese court environment in the 19th century. The values of character education that were built at that time continue to be embedded in the life of the Javanese people to this day. This fact would be a strong reason for the effort to reformulate piwulang literature as a new alternative model of character education in Indonesia. The approach used in this research is a text phenomenological approach with van Dijk's theory of critical discourse analysis about discourse and its social cognition relations. From the results of a study of piwulang literary texts, it is concluded that the syntactic structure of didactic texts leads to strengthening the sense of taste which in Javanese terms is referred to as "rasa sejati". The essence of taste values include: bekti (respect), tresna (love), and andhap asor (polite). The teaching formulation is in the knowledge of things related to ala-becik, adat-waton, and manners.
