The purpose of this study is to present the chronicle of literature as a media of the power's hegemony of the King of Java. The King as a super figure has extraordinary strengths and qualities. His extraordinary strengths and special qualities have made him worthy to lead the Java Island. This study is a qualitative descriptive research to describe the results of research on The Chronicle of Sultan Agung. The results of the study show that as an Islamic King of Java, his power is legitimized through the text of the chronicle literature. Sultan Agung is narrated as the most benevolent King who is able to conquer many countries without going through war. Charisma and supernatural power proclaimed by the retainer and his subordinates made him respected by officials and kings. At the time of conquering the Cirebon area, by coming to the main city during full moon night while watching puppet shows, the fragrant scent and the flying chair is a form of power hegemony over other countries. Sultan Agung is also able to rule the supernatural creatures. Nyi Roro Kidul is portrayed as a beautiful woman who is fond of Sultan Agung and at the same time also wants to be a wife who devotes herself. The strong feeling and hunch are inherent in Sultan Agung. It is proved by the hunch he got that the British and Dutch troops will arrive in the Land of Java Island. He is also able to go to Mecca in just an instant for Friday prayers in Mecca.
Javanese people in the past used piwulang text as a source of behavior. Javanese identity is inherent in conduct and behavior. They believe that the Javanese teachings possess valuable values and character. The purpose of this study is to present the Serat Wulang Putra (SWP) as a source of character education for the modern generation. The Javanese text is one of the sources of character education based on Indonesian culture. This type of research is qualitative research focussing on character education designedt and applied to the modern generation. This research is a descriptive qualitative one. The theory applied in this research is content analysis theory. Serat Wulang Putra (SWP) text is analyzed in order to obtain some values that are useful for modern generation character educations, namely mutual respect, obedience to teachers, obedience to parents, toughness, honesty, responsibility, steadfastness, wisdom, patience, love and care, and carefulness. Adji’s (Sentolo) manuscript is one of the primbon category manuscripts witch contains ruwatan mantras along with predictions if an earthquake or eclipse occurs in a certain month. The purpose of this study is to provide edits and translations of the AS text according to philological rules and to provide information on what spells exist in the AS text. The data used in this study is Adji’s (Sentolo). The data source is the Adji’s (Sentolo) manuscript with the code in the SK 165 catalog stored in the Sonobudoyo State Museum Library Unit II, Yogyakarta. The research method used is a philological reaserch method with a standard edition single manuscript editing method and a free translation method so that it is easily understood by readers. The result obtained from this study are in the form of valid text edits according to philological rules and text translations in Indonesian. The deepest spells in the AS text are divided into two parts. In the first part there are mantras such as gumbala geni, tunjung kuning, tulak tanggul, caraka balik, dunga srabat, and predictions in case of earthquakes and eclipses. In the second part there are bidding spells such as jaramaya or caraka balik, tulak tanggul, the difference lies in the pronunciation of spell used. Based on AS manuscript research that has been carried out philologically, in this study the results of edits and translations of the text were obtained and contained information about various kinds of ruwatan mantras. This research can be continued and become a reference for other sciences, such as linguistics, especially in stylistics. Keywords : Philology; Adji’s (Sentolo); Text Editing; Text Translation.
Students of Grade III of Elementary school began to be taught Javanese script. The student has some problems when studying Javanese script that is difficult to distinguish and the use of media of learning of Javanese script is limited. Based on these problems found the idea of developing the media of Pansus Raja for the learning of third-grade students of Elementary School in Semarang regency. The problems in this research are: (1) how the needs of teachers and students of the third grade of Elementary school in Semarang regency to Pansus Raja, (2) how to develop the media of Pansus Raja, and (3) how to validate expert lecturers. The method used in this research is Research and Development (RnD) using a data analysis technique that is descriptive qualitative technique. After Pansus Raja was created, then tested to the expert lecturers. The revitalized Pansus Raja tried out to Elementary School. The result of the trial is the media Pansus Raja proved to increase students' understanding of Javanese script.
