OBJECTIVE:To examine the interobserver variability for fetal biometric parameters and to focus on how this variability affects the combined first-trimester screening test results.METHODS:Sixty-four singleton pregnancies who were scheduled for combined first-trimester screening were investigated. Two experienced sonographers performed all examinations at the same visit. The risk calculations of screening were performed according to the each operator’s individual ultrasonographic fetal measurements. Interobserver variability in measurements of fetal nuchal translucency (NT) and crown-rump length (CRL) and the effect of this interobserver variability on the screening results were assessed.RESULTS:Interobserver reliabilities for NT and CRL were 0.687 and 0.945 (p<0.001), respectively. Interobserver reliability coefficients for trisomy 21 and trisomy 13/18 were 0.945 and 0.963 (p<0.001), respectively.CONCLUSION:Our study demonstrated quite high interobserver reliability for CRL measurement, while interobserver agreement for NT was lower. Despite this lower reliability and agreement for NT measurement, interobserver reliability for chromosomal abnormalities was quite high.
SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: This descriptive cross-sectional study aimed to determine the effect of pregnancy symptoms on the sexual quality of life. METHODS: This study included 150 pregnant women who visited the obstetrics and gynecology outpatient clinic of the hospital between October 1, 2019, and April 1, 2020, and met the inclusion criteria. Data were collected using the Personal and Obstetric Information form, Sexual Quality of Life-Female scale, and Pregnancy Symptom Inventory. RESULTS: The mean age of the participants was 27.7±5.2 years. As per the collected data, 39.3% of the participants had university- or higher-level education and 21.3% had an income-generating job. A weak negative correlation was found between the scores of Sexual Quality of Life-Female and frequency of pregnancy symptoms and limitation in daily activities (p=0.016 and p=0.020, respectively), whereas a strong positive correlation was found between frequency of pregnancy symptoms and limitation in daily activities. Regression analysis showed that as Sexual Quality of Life-Female scores decreased, frequency of pregnancy symptoms and limitation in daily activities scores increased (p<0.001). CONCLUSION: Our study showed that, as the frequency of symptoms experienced during pregnancy and their impact on daily life increase, the sexual quality of life decreases. We recommend providing education and counseling services to women and their partners about pregnancy symptoms and its impact on sexual life during pregnancy and implementing effective measures to eliminate the negative effects of these symptoms on the sexual quality of life.

Materials and Methods: A total of 60 singleton pregnancies who were scheduled for STMSS were investigated. Two experienced sonographers performed all examinations at the same visit. The risk calculations of screening were performed according to the each operator's biometric measurements separately. Interobserver variability in measurements of fetal biometrics and the effect of this interobserver variability on the screening results were assessed. Results: interobserver reliability for biparietal diameter (BPD) and femur length (FL) were 0.904 and 0.888 (p < 0.001), respectively. interobserver reliability coefficients for trisomy 21, trisomy 13/18, and neural tube defect were 0.887, 0.999, and 0.920 (p < 0.0001), respectively. Conclusion: The present results demonstrate that the interobserver reliability and agreement of ultrasound measurements of fetal biometry in cases of routine prenatal screening are highly reliable.
Burch colposuspension remains one of the successful operations performed for stress incontinence. Accidental suturing of the bladder wall during the procedure or subsequent erosion may lead to lower urinary tract symptoms. Diagnosis and management of these sutures indicate precise evaluation for which a 70 degree cystoscope is used. In selected cases, Holmium-YAG laser may enable us to manage long-standing, encrustated neglected sutures. Here we would like to report successful removal of intravesical sutures using the Holmium-YAG laser.
