Seagrass is one of the important ecosystems in shallow coastal and marine waters, because it has many roles, both ecologically and economically. Bontang City is one area that has a vast seagrass ecosystem. Management of seagrass ecosystems in Bontang City, of course, wants the existence of sustainable economic development, but on the other hand, sometimes increasing economic needs based on natural resources (resource base), often create a dilemma for the sustainability of natural resources. This happens because the consumption needs of the community are often not supported by good planning and management in utilizing natural resources so that the deterioration of environmental quality is often seen as a cost that must be paid in a process of economic development. The purposes of this study are 1). Identifying forms of utilization from seagrass ecosystems, 2) knowing the economic value of seagrass ecosystems. The sampling method used was purposive sampling. The results of the study revealed that fishing activities with splint catches and nets were a form of seagrass ecosystem utilization activities. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that the total economic value of 4 (four) utilization of seagrass ecosystems in Bontang City is Rp. 7,081,050,816,042 per year. The utilization value with the largest proportion comes from the value of indirect benefits which is equal to 95.66%, and the lowest proportion is the option value.
This study aims to determine the basic financial criterias of business feasibility based on indicators Revenue Cost Ratio (RCR), break event or Break Event Point (BEP) and marketing channels of shrimp nugget processing business, at UD. Kaya Rasa, Keledang Mas Baru Resident, Sub District of Samarinda Seberang, Samarinda. This research was conducted during 6 months starting in November 2015 until April 2016. The data was collected by interviewing the informant. The study designed using the case study method and the sampling is done by using census method. Analysing of the data used the basic finance criterias of business feasibility and then presented in tabular form. The results showed that the shrimp nugget processing business was profitable and feasible, showed by the results of Revenue Cost Ratio (RCR) were 1,194, Break Event Point (BEP) in sales were Rp.9.015.949/month, Break Event Point (BEP) in prices were Rp.12.565/packaging, Break event point (BEP) in production were 679/month. The margins on marketing agencies were Rp.3.000/pack, or equal to of 83,34%.
The purpose of this study is to describe the actual activities of fisherwomen at Selangan Laut that produce shrimp paste. In addition to analyzing the feasibility of their business. Further study of cleaner production options that can be applied in the processing activities to be more effective in terms of cost, time and energy and environmental friendly. Data were collected through interviews and observation techniques participate, then analyzed descriptively by tabulation and flow charts include financial analysis. Results showed financially fermented shrimp processing business conducted by the wives of the fishermen to be developed because the investment criteria NPV USD 29149.80> 0, the value of IRR 35%> 10% OCC, 1.23 times Net BCR> 1 time and Payback period of 2.98 years. In the processing of shrimp paste can still be improved efficiency and hygiene. Efforts that can be done is to make the SOP (standard operating procedure) processing shrimp paste, provides storage of raw materials and the layout of the equipment used. In terms of promotions and marketing seeks to follow events / fairs food industry, analyzing the nutritional value as well as providing content in the form of certified halal label, expiration date and composition of nutrients that are safe for consumption and widely known.
