This study examined the changes of the hip, knee and ankle joint kinematics after a wedged insole application for children with flexible flatfoot. The results showed that insole significantly decreased maximum calcaneal eversion velocity and maximum internal tibial rotation angle in children with flexible flatfoot.
ConclusionsThe wedge-designed insole may be beneficial to children with flexible flatfoot by decreasing the imposed joint loading and preventing further lower extremity injuries.
