Muitas crianças são vítimas de violência, sendo essa uma realidade dolorosa responsável por altas taxas de morbimortalidade. Os profissionais da saúde são obrigados a notificar os maus-tratos cometidos contra crianças e adolescentes. Este estudo objetivou caracterizar os maus-tratos contra a criança, a partir da avaliação das notificações compulsórias na Paraíba. Trata-se de um estudo documental do tipo exploratório descritivo, com abordagem quantitativa. Os dados foram obtidos no Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação através do sítio eletrônico www.datasus.gov.br, considerando-se o período de 2010 a 2013. A amostra foi constituída pelas notificações compulsórias de maus-tratos com corte na faixa etária infantil, ou seja, de acordo com o Ministério da Saúde, a pessoa entre 0 e 9 anos de idade.Constituíram-se variáveis do estudo: os tipos de maus-tratos, distribuição no tempo,o gênero das vítimas, os tipos de agressores e local de proveniência em notificações de maus-tratos.Constatou-se 3204 notificações de violência praticada contra a criança. Com aumento dos casos ao longo do período estudado. Sendo a negligência o tipo mais frequente, com maior vitimização as crianças do sexo masculino. A maioria das agressões é praticada no lar da criança e a mãe está entre o principal autor. Os resultados revelam a necessidade do fortalecimento das políticas públicas judiciárias e de assistência à saúde da criança. Ressaltamos também a necessidade de maior divulgação e esclarecimento aos profissionais de saúde sobre a importância do seu papel frente ao problema estudado.
Introduction: Populational aging is a phenomenon that causes changes in the whole world, highlighting the spread of HIV/AIDS on the elderly population, characterized as a public health problem.Objective: Identifying the understanding of older people about prevention and transmission of HIV/AIDS and recognizing their opinion about the control of this disease.Method: this is an exploratory-descriptive study of a qualitative approach, developed with 26 elderly enrolled in three Family Health Strategies on the city of Cajazeiras, Paraiba, Brazil. the data were collected in interview structured script, and the data were collected in an interview with structured script, and analyzed according to the Content Analysis technique proposed by Bardin.
Introduction: with the various physiological and pathological changes relevant to the aging process, the elderly lose their autonomy and independence, limiting their ability for self-care and compromising the quality of life, which increases the need for social and professional support.Objective: verifying the knowledge about Assistive Technology by professionals and academics who work with the elderly in long term care services.Method: This is a cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, carried out in three long-stay institutions for the elderly from the city of Cajazeiras, Paraiba. The sample consisted of employees, volunteers, teachers and academics, totaling 50 participants. The results were tabulated and statistically analyzed using the software Statistical Package for Social Sciences, version 22.0, presented in tables and discussed according to the pertinent literature. Results:The resources most identified by participants were the aid for daily life and practical life, architectural projects for accessibility and mobility aid. Some participants said they did not implement the Assistive Technology in their practice by not knowing the existing resources and its benefits, lack of training, limited resources and/or lack of Government resources and high cost of equipment. Conclusion:Assistive Technology represents the next step in the search for active aging, being the devices of great value for the elderly, increasing their functional capacity, autonomy and quality of life.
