The present study aimed to uncover the potentials and challenges of e-learning as occurred in the implementation of learning from home movement. 127 student teachers of English took part in this study and shared their views about the utilization of e-learning during uncertain times. Data were collected from an open-ended online questionnaire and were analyzed by employing a qualitative approach focusing on the content analysis. All the responses were analyzed to firstly identify the themes generated in each category. Three significant findings for each part were presented in this study. As for the potentials, participants viewed that using the e-learning model is beneficial due to its flexibility to access the learning resources, the opportunity to promote independent learning, and accommodate more students to take part in the discussion. On the contrary, some also reported they encountered some problems during the implementation process, such as limited internet connection, increasing expenses, and limited feedback received. This study suggested that relevant stakeholders also need to take part to address the challenges, such as technological infrastructure, in order to help Indonesian students learn virtually.
Teachers play crucial roles; therefore, this study is intended to examine student teachers’ motivation (instrumental vs. integrative) and commitment (committed passionate, committed compromiser, undecided and uncommitted) to teaching. Quantitative approach using a questionnaire was conducted involving 328 English student teachers from some universities in Indonesia. Using the descriptive analysis, the findings show that those having integrative motivation are 56% and the highest figure for the level of commitment is, as expected, committed passionate (44%). Concerning gender differences, more males (M: 60%, F: 55%) were surprisingly found to have integrative motivation, although more females were found to have the highest level of commitment (M: 35%, F: 47%). These findings at the same time reveal a considerably high proportion of those who did not have a genuine motive to enroll in a teacher education programme and to commit to becoming teachers implying necessary measures from both the government and the teacher education institutions. Keywords: Commitment, motivation, student teacher, teacher, teacher education.
This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of smartphone addiction, fear of missing out (FoMO), conformity, and demographic factors towards phubbing. The population of this research is generation Y who have communication devices and domiciles in JABODETABEK. The sample in this research is 301 people. Sampling using non-probability sampling techniques. Measuring tool used in this research is the scale of the phubbing scale instrument (PS), smartphone addiction scale-short version (SAS-SV), fear of missing out scale (FoMOS), and scale of conformity. Test the validity of measuring instrument used is the technique of confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Hypothesis testing in this research using multiple regression analysis through IBM SPSS statistics 20. The results of this research indicate that there is a significant influence on smartphone addiction variables, fear of missing out (FoMO), conformity, and demographic factors to phubbing of 0,391 or 39,1% of the remaining 60,9% is influenced by other variables. Based on the results of the hypothesis testing of each variable that has been done, there are one variable significant influence on phubbing of smartphone addiction.
This research is entitled "Learning Management of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Based on Multiple Intelligences at SMA IT Insan Mandiri Cibubur". The purpose of this research is to explain how the SMA IT Insan Mandiri Cibubur High School as an education provider institution applies the concept of "Multiple Intelligences" to makes a learning model based on "Multiple Intelligences". The writer deliberately took PAI learning as a sample to make it easier for writer in the research process and not to widen and focus too much. Because in essence this study aims to find out a comprehensive model of the concept of learning based on multiple intelligences. This research is a type of qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The conclusions of this study stated: That the implementation management of the "Multiple Intelligences" based learning concept that implemented by SMA IT Insan Mandiri Cibubur includes the learning planning process, learning implementation and assessment of learning outcomes. In planning learning, teacher use a database of students' multiple intelligences research (MIR) results, this is to make it easier for teachers to prepare lesson plans (RPP), and than teacher can choose a variety of strategies and learning methods, which are adjusted to the learning style and intelligence tendencies of students. Then in the implementation of learning, the teacher implements what has been prepared in the lesson plan (RPP) by implementstion with attractive learning and fun learning with the aim of sparking the various potentials of the students and using the “quantum teaching method” and implementation of project based qur’an (PBQ). The last process is the assessment of learning outcomes, by using authentic assessment, its named a balanced and objective assessment in each domain, both cognitive, affective and psychomotor.
Previous research has explored possible reasons to conduct academic dishonesty while there are only a few research studies that investigate the strategies to promote academic integrity and do not look at moral self-regulation as a mediating variable. This study, therefore, aims to examine whether moral self-regulation mediates the effects of mastery goal orientation and performance goal orientation on academic integrity. A self-report scale was distributed to 251 students (M = 41%; F = 59%) of one state Islamic university in Jakarta, Indonesia, in which the structural equation model was used to analyse the data. Using the root mean square error of approximation, comparative fit index and Tucker–Lewis Index as indicators of the model of fit, the results proved that moral self-regulation mediated two mentioned variables affecting academic integrity. This finding implies the need to consider the inclusion of moral self-regulation in the academic life of students. Keywords: Academic integrity, moral self-regulation, mastery goal orientation, performance goal orientation;
